Dry Dock

Art, Aaron, Cole, Kenny and Joe are finishing up a week of dry dock at Knight & Carver in National City. They are headed back to Fishmerman's Landing today and the dockside work will continue. Everything below the water line looked great and all inspections went smoothly...just in time for her 42nd birthday on May 24!

T U N A !!

Howdy anglers,
Today I got my blood pumping and all it took was a couple of tuna chasing bait and jumping out of the water! We are on our way home from Cabo San Lucas, finishing up our natural history season, and today we saw tuna. We were a little over 200 miles from home in flat, calm weather and we saw the bait first. Then the bluefin tuna followed. They were in the 20lb range. Hopefully it's the leading edge of the school that is on our way. That was very exciting to see and hope to see ya on the water soon,
Good angling,
Capt. Aaron

Office in full swing again!

Searcher will start her dry-dock maintenance on April 30 to get her in fishing shape. Stay tuned...

Office closure

Dear anglers:
It's time for a little "spring break" and Celia will be away from the office from April 7-18. We'd love to take your reservations this week so you are locked in to your preferred trip. If not, someone will be returning phone calls while we are away and Celia will have email access during the trip.
NOTE: Day at the Docks will be held April 15. The boat, Capt Art and Celia will all be away so we can't participate this year!

Fishing down the Baja coast and the banks in November!

Our last 2012 trip will be a doozy! It's the 9-day Fish Down/Fly Back (from Cabo San Lucas or La Paz) trip. Fishing time is about 7 days, so what a way to fish Baja! We need a few more anglers to call the trip a "go!" Don't miss it, only 18 anglers! (Nov 8-17)

Clarification on Mexican Tourist Visa Requirements

SAC (Sportfishing Association of CA) obtained the published requirements from the Consul General of Mexico in San Diego yesterday clarifying the tourist visa requirement for sportfishing trips in Mexican waters. This document restates what we have been telling our customers--that a tourist visa will be required on trips longer than 3-days. Trips fishing within 24-miles of territorial waters (along coast and around islands) require a visa for each passenger. Shorter trips will presumably fish offshore and not need this visa. The cost is about $40 and our landing will provide them here in San Diego, so no clearance in Ensenada is required.
Passports are still strongly encouraged, though this recent information states that a valid driver's license is also acceptable.
We will issue an e-newsletter will all the details soon.

Welcome Baby Remy!

The Searcher family has a new member--Capt Aaron and Ali welcomed 9 pound/9 ounce bouncing Channing Mitchell Remy.
Long-time Searcher friends will remember Aaron's grandfather, Mitch, who was our cook for many years. Channing's middle name is an homage to Mitch!
Many blessings to the Remy family.
p.s. We think we see dimples in this photo...
