Trip 14 (5 day) Aug 12 Mid-day Report
Hello anglers,
We started our day at 4 am so we could catch some greenback mackerel to add to our bait variety. We went back to the good yellotwtail area from yesterday. We didn’t see the same sign of good conditions, so we opted to try a different zone. We saw fish and sat patiently on the anchor, and then had the reward of some action! It was also the first time we used the dropper loop method and some people had good success. We hope to have the same afternoon action today.
Chef Dan Cramer helped Lindsey Ginter from Long Beach, CA land a nice yellowtail this morning. Later Chefs Dan and Charley will make their famous fresh yellowtail dinner!

Trip 14 (5 day) Aug 11 Days-end Report
Hello anglers:
We had some really good action this afternoon and plenty of opportunities for everyone to catch quality yellowtail. We are spending the night and trying again tomorrow. We hope to repeat what we experienced today! All in all, a great day of fishing.
Photo is crew member Ryan (R2) and Mike Brown from Hawthorne. Mike’s yellowtail was caught on a live sardine.

Luck o’ the bootz was with Mike Brown today in the yellowtail zone!

Hello anglers:
We are off to a pretty good start today in the yellowtail zone! We’re enjoying some steady action for everyone. Live sardines and yo-yo lures have been the best method for the morning.
Capt Ryan Stahl is pictured with Gary Gillingham from Accurate Fishing Products with a nice yellowtail caught on one of his Accurate reels.
We’re also enjoying the good weather, with light winds and calm seas.

Trip 14 (5 day) Aug 10 Mid-day Report
Hello all,
We are off to a slow start so far today. The weather is awesome with sunny skies and calm seas. We are working our way south on the coast with hopes of finding yellowtail for everyone. We had a few yellows in one spot and Ashley Maisel from Truckee CA landed a nice size yellowtail. She’s got the Luck o’ the Bootz! (she took a picture with Searcher celebrity Bootz upon departure for extra good luck!)
Hoping for more good stops this afternoon. More later!

Howdy anglers,
Slow speed going up, and the first destination had poor conditions so we’re working up – so we should be to our next spot a little after lunch. This is what we’re looking for soon -some bent rods like this one with Chase Bierig!
day’s end report, transmitted at 8:00 pm Aug 8, 2016
We only got to fish for a couple hours this afternoon. but it was amazing yellowtail fishing! It was a great way to end a great trip – the weather is good, and we’re headed home.
Here is a happy group all holding some fish. The best method was on a flyline sardine with a 1 to 2 oz. slider and a nose-hooked sardine on 30-40 lb mono. Some were caught on the surface iron and only a couple on the yoyo iron.
We are heading home happy 🙂 It’s been a great time with Dennis Braid of Braid Products!

Howdy anglers,
Great day fishing for us here – had some action most all day long! Had good yellowtail fishing with a sample of yellowfin tuna mixed in as well. Here is another nice yellow caught by Stever O’Rourke on an Owner 1/0 ringed fly liner J hook.
Moving up the coast to try for a little more fishing time.
More tomorrow,

Trip 13 (4 day) Aug 7 Mid-day Report
Howdy anglers,
Good morning for us fishing for yellowtail, and even a few yellowfin tuna have been caught as well! Here is our trip sponsor, Dennis Braid of Braid Products, holding a sample of our catch today. Most of the fish have been caught on a 2 oz. egg sinker and a 2/0 hook with a sardine. Other methods have been doing ok – like a yoyo jig, and the surface iron has been effective as well.
We are going to keep at it – more later,
Capt Aaron and Team Searcher
