July 7
Hello anglers: Today we had good action on yellowtail. We arrived after lunch and after figuring out where we needed to be, we started to land some fish. Most of the fish are in the 15# range with a few stand-outs over 20#. Everyone had a chance to land a nice yellowtail this afternoon. The weather was calm so it made for a nice day. Looking forward to returning to start the next trip.

First 2015 “First Blood” winner
Congrats to Ron Spier of Rancho Cucamonga, CA!
Hello anglers: We stopped to wet a line in the local yellowtail grounds today, though we got there a little late after the local guys had great fishing. It was good for everyone to get a little rail time and get to know the crew. We also got the new deck christened with some fish blood. Ron Spier from Rancho Cucamunga was the winner with the first fish this year–a nice-size yellow tail. He and Capt Kenny are pictured for today’s photo. We are headed south looking for some yellowfin tuna tomorrow.

New parking spots for 1.5 day trips
There are over 100 new free spots located just outside the Ace Parking lot at Fishermans Landing and extending south down Harbor Drive in front of the marina and restaurants. These are for 72-hours or less only! So only for 1.5 trip customers. The construction of the area is still underway, but finishing up soon (we hope). As always, allow EXTRA travel time for parking.
Tuna Time!
Hello anglers: Great news from local waters with bluefin tuna caught in US waters! Some of the fish landed are up to 50 pounds. This is great for our future 1.5-day trips. Great news from the boats further out with catches of yellowfin tuna within 3-day range! Can’t wait to get out there.

News from the field
Hello anglers: We have some encouraging news from points south today–yellowfin tuna within 3-day range in the past couple of days. Good conditions with warm clean water as well. There’s an occasional dorado and good-size yellowtail associated with kelp paddies.
Things are looking up a bit!
