Today is Tackle Tip Thursday! Today we have Captain Art giving us a great Tackle Tip. Did you miss our Tackle Talk Live? We have the full video posted on our YouTube channel. Here is Captain Art’s must-have lure for bluefin fishing.  He gives us two lures you must have in your tackle box for bluefin fishing: the Colt Sniper and the flat fall or butterfly lure. Captain Art suggests having 3-4 in your tackle box.

🎉Congratulations🎉 to our crewman Ryan Lindahn is now Captain Ryan!

Ryan received his 100-ton US Coast Guard Merchant Mariner’s License recently and we are super proud. ⚓He worked hard and achieved his goal of pursuing his career on the ocean.🌊

Captain Ryan will be joining our other captains: Art, Kenny, Mike and Armando in all the same great customer service on deck, but stepping up to more captain duties as well!

It’s Tackle Tip Thursday and Throwback Thursday! Today we have Steve C. from Penn Fishing back from the Fred Hall Show. Steve gives us all the must-haves for tuna and yellowtail fishing. We were asked about spinning reels on the last Tackle Talk live so Steve gives us a tackle tip with a spinning reel and tackle tip. Steve has a popper lure and a Penn Slammer III spinning reel.

Steve has dart type lure for when the tune are bitting small bait. With a 40# test outfit, Steve has a Penn Fathom (FTH25N LB2) 2-Speed reel or the Torque 15 extra narrow reel.

Here is some of the knots Captain Art went over in our Tackle Talk Live. He walks us through how to tie a Surgeon’s Knot. (Monofilament “mono” to fluorocarbon connection knot.) He also shows us the “Improved Clinch” Knot. Perfect for hooking monofilament aka “mono” to your circle hook. Great for getting your hook back in the water.
