Trip #27 Accurate 7-day trip (Oct 19-26)
Good evening anglers,
As the day progressed action slowed down, but we were able to pick away on these big yellowtail right up until dark. The majority of the fish were about 35-40 lbs. Our biggest landed today weighed in just shy of 50lbs.
Here’s Ryan and Bryan S. with the last fish of our trip weighing in at 47.2 lbs. Bryan caught it with a mackerel on the dropper loop, and fishing 100lb.

Good morning anglers,
We have been picking at these big yellows all morning. We have landed a handful in the 45lb range, with most of the fish coming over the rail right about 35lbs. We have had these big yellowfin boiling all around the boat all morning. We’ve only landed a couple though.

Good evening anglers,
We had steady action on these big brute yellowtail this afternoon. We were hooking them on the dropper loop mackerel, fly line mackerel and yoyo jigs. The only way to land them seemed to be if you fished 80 or 100lb. We had heavy casualties due to the sharp rocks on the bottom here. Here’s Alan with a yellowtail he caught on the dropper loop. We’re going to try make some bait again tonight and try fish these big yellows again in the morning.

Hello anglers,
We moved up the island a ways this morning and we found fish. We got on a mix of yellowfin tuna and yellowtail. The yellowfin are 50-60lbs and the yellowtail are 25-40lbs. We see bigger fish around and working on landing some. Here is Bryan and Pax with a 35lb yellowtail and a 50 lb yellowfin.
They’re boiling all around the boat right now hopefully they keep biting. Wish us luck.

Good evening anglers,
We had a slow day of fishing this afternoon. There is good sign of this mixed grade 30-60lb fish here. It boiled around the boat for hours, but we struggled to get them to bite the hook. Most of the fish we did hook didn’t come up whole, or got away Hopefully we paid our dues here today. Here’s a 50+lb that fell victim to the tax man. We’ll check back in the morning.

Good morning anglers,
We got to the Guadalupe Island this morning at sunrise and started seeing scattered fish right away. It did not take long for us to find a nice school of mixed grade yellowfin tuna 30-60lbs. We have landed a few and lost a few as of now. They are boiling all around the boat. We’re going to hang in tough here and wait for bite time.
Here is Tim and Captain Armando with the first yellowfin tuna to hit the deck today.
