Trip #20 Penn Reels 3-day (Sept 12-15)
Good evening anglers:
We spent the rest of our day in search of anything that wanted to bite. We found a school of bluefin right at the end of the day that bit into the dark. Here are Tim and Ed with a pair of 40+ lb bluefin they landed in the dark.
We’re heading back for a Sunday morning arrival at the dock. Back out on a 1.5 day trip

Trip #20 Penn Reels 3-day (Sept 12-15)
Good morning anglers,
We are seeing lots of yellowfin this morning, mostly on its own bait making it hard to get a bite. We found a nice sonar school at around 730 this morning and have been drifting with it for 3 hours now scratching up some quality fish. Getting a bite has been tough, 20lb test is the key. Weather’s great, hopefully they start biting a bit more.

Trip #20 Penn Reels 3-day (Sept 12-15)
Good evening anglers,
This afternoon we looked at a lot of large schools of yellowfin, but we had some trouble getting bites. Late in the day we managed a nice sample of quality fish. Here is Logan with a 20lb yellowfin he caught on a fly-lined bait on 20lb test. Logan fishes with his dad and uncle aboard Searcher.

Trip #20 Penn Reels 3-day (Sept 12-15)
Good morning anglers,
We started in a new area this morning. The first thing we found was a very large school of mixed bluefin and yellowfin. We hooked a few but only managed some off of the school. Here is Steve Carson with a 35lb bluefin he landed on 15lb test. Steve’s Tackle Tip went over this set up. Reel in the tackle tip here. We are on the hunt for yellowfin this afternoon. Wish us luck!

Trip #20 Penn Reels 3-day (Sept 12-15)
Good evening anglers,
Today we departed on a 3 day trip sponsored by Penn Reels. Pro-staffer Steve Carson is here with all kinds of giveaways and loaner gear. (Check out Steve’s recent tackle tip here: Your “must-have” outfit!)
We started our day on a nice sonar school of yellowfin that didn’t bite very well. We still managed a few, but then quickly moved on. We kept heading west where we found an area of bluefin and stopped on a nice sonar mark of 30-50lb bluefin These stuck with us until after dark and started biting the flat falls after the sun went down. We got a nice sample and what a great way to start off our trip.

Here is Mike B. with a 35lb bluefin he landed on 25lb test.
