Update on sardine fishery

April 30th, 2015|Captain Mike's Blog|

Dear anglers: Based on the information received from California Fish and Wildlife this week, the recent closure for commercial take of sardines will NOT affect our live bait haulers for the coming season. The result is that we will have sardines for bait this year.
As far as the bluefin closure in Mexico, that is still in effect. Our representatives from Sportfishing Association of California are in Mazatlan this weekend and will hopefully have a resolution from Mexico.

We’ll try to keep you all informed.

Capt Art’s report on fishing conditions

March 26th, 2015|Captain Mike's Blog|

After two months of travelling between San Diego and Cabo for our natural history tours we have seen encouraging FISH signs. Water temps are above average–from San Diego to San Benito, the water is in the 63-65 degree range. Maybe the best news is the clean, blue water everywhere. Pelagic red crabs are abundant in several areas and you know just about every fish we target feeds on red crabs. These are very encouraging signs!”

We are grateful that you trust us to show your friends and family a quality sportfishing experience with Searcher Sportfishing!

October 24–Last fishing day of 2014!

October 24th, 2014|Captain Mike's Blog|

Howdy anglers: All good things must come to a end. We finished the 2014 season with a great trip of fishing. Our last day was spent looking for kelps and we found a couple to finish off the trip and the season. The weather is wonderful. Here’s a group shot of happy dorado fishermen. oct 18-25 dorado We’re headed home and looking forward to some time on land, but also looking forward to what the 2015 season brings. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water in 2015
