Howdy anglers: We had another great morning fishing for yellowtail and so we’re working up the beach trying to find something else to catch. Our weather is very good still. Here’s a sample of the fish we caught. This is “Team Wisconsin” with family members Jim and Dan Berg and Tricia Ohm. oct 4-9 bergs

Howdy anglers: Today we had a amazing afternoon of fishing for yellowtail. We got our daily limit of fish and the weather couldn’t get any calmer. We’re hoping for some more action tomorrow before we head offshore looking for other species

A tip of the day; Traveling can wear on you, but the wait can be beneficial, like today!

Hello anglers: Yesterday we had some late action on yellowtail in the 14-20 pound range during the last two hours of the day. Most of the fish were landed using yo-yo lures. Today we had more excellent yellowtail fishing. Yo-yo lures and dropper-loop are the two methods of choice. They are the same size yellowtail as yesterday but in a completely differnet spot. The weather is awesome with sunny skies and calm seas. We are truly blessed this trip with great weather and great fishing.

Dear anglers: Capt Aaron reports catching some yellowtail today, but the catching figures are not living up to what was happening early in the week. The windy conditions are persisting as well. We are hoping for a biting school of yellowfin to show up this afternoon! ETA is 6 a.m.

Howdy anglers, This morning was very slow for us, but not from lack of fish. We saw lots of nice big schools, and even a few big schools feeding on bait balls. It was very cool to see, so we’re hoping for some more action this afternoon. The weather is a bit choppy, so wish us luck.

September 23 trip’s end and a look to the future

September 23rd, 2014|Captain Mike's Blog|

Hello anglers: We changed things up today and tried along the coast for yellowtail. We had enough tuna and dorado for everyone. We saw a sign of yellowtail in a couple of different places today, but they didn’t want to bite. The ones we landed were good size–18-25 pound fish. Almost everyone landed one. Capt Richie and Richard Yoshioka from La Palma, CA are pictured with a nice yellowtail.sep 19-24 yoshioka
We are headed home after a great trip with plenty of action and variety. These 14 passenger trips are great–everyone loves them, including us. They are very low key with lots of room for everyone. There is a 14-passenger trip in October that has some room on it. Treat yourself and join us!
Speaking of our later trips, things are shaping up down south with signs of wahoo, yellowfin tuna and lots of yellowtail on the coast for the way down or the way home. Looking forward to getting down below for a change of scenery and a chance at a wahoo.
