Hello all, Unfortunately we are taking another “E” for effort today. We had a great game plan by starting a little further south where there was a good sign of bluefin tuna in the 25-40 pound class. That fish did not show this morning. We travelled back up to where yesterday’s action was and the wasn’t any sign of the better-size bluefin, but we did manage to catch 5 yellowfin tuna in that zone . They were 15-20 pound fish. Our two young men both caught their first yellowfin tuna today so that was awesome.
We stopped on lots of kelp paddies both days with very little caught. The encouraging thing today was there were yeloowfin tuna caught in several different zones. That could be good news for a little later in the season. I wish we could make the fish bite. Maybe next trip.

Hello anglers, We have seen quite a bit of bluefin tuna today! We can’t get them interested in what we have to offer and that seems to be a fleet-wide problem today. We are about 100 miles south of San Diego in great weather, with 67-degree blue water. We have one bluefin about 60 pounds caught by the Ware family from Mentone, CA. We have 6 yellowtail from a kelp paddie and that is it so far. We have high hopes for the rest of today and tomorrow. Team Searcher
Anglers: I have no voice today due to a cold. I am so sorry, but if you can email any questions, concerns, information today, I would appreciate it. I will work on getting someone with a voice to return any outstanding calls (from Thursday). Thanks! celia
And I’ll be posting anything I hear from the boat. Capt Art called to say the weather and the bait (and the new refrigeration) are terrific, so they’re on the hunt!

Hello all,
We are winding down on our maintenance period–and the new refrigeration system is working great! The final adjustments were made yesterday and we are ready for some fish to go in the wells. We got our shipment of new gaff blanks, and we’ll will make some new gaffs next week.
On the fishing front, the weather has calmed down and we are waiting for an update from the boats that are on the grounds. We just received a report from the SAC spotter plane–they saw a school of 30-50# bluefin tuna at around 150 miles. Great news!
Sign up for a great deal–our 2.5 day trip through Fisherman’s Landing. See our schedule for the full line-up

Hello anglers, We are happy to report that there has been several spots of fish seen by another Fishermans Landing boat! The Royal Polaris saw fish as close as 150 miles from home in calm weather yesterday. The fish that they saw up close were 20-40 pound bluefin tuna. Sounds exciting!
