TUNA REPORT: There are areas of scattered bluefin tuna (25-100#) over a 25-mile area of good conditions. There are yellowtail around too, in the 8-15# range, with a few 20# standouts. The current zone is 80-100 miles away. With the tuna scene heating up, we’ve scheduled some 1.5-day, limited-load (25 anglers) trips for you. Departure dates are June 22, July 7 and July 9.
Today another boat from our fleet (Shogun) found some bluefin and yellowfin tuna at 170 miles from San Diego! The bluefin were 40-100# and the yellowfin were 15-25#. There was a single dorado in the count as well. There are other boats in the same zone today, so stay tuned!
Our first trip is a 5-day from Jun 25-30 and there are a few spots left if you’d like to be part of the start to the tuna and yellowtail season.

Here’s the latest on costs for Mexican fishing permits from Fisherman’s Landing for our multi-day trips:
3-day trip $73
4-day trip $74
5-day trip $80
6-day trip $82
7-day trip $84
Please note that an annual Mexican fishing permit is not applicable for these trips. However, you may use that permit for trips shorter than 3 days departing out of San Diego, such as our 1.5 day trips this summer.

Richard Hamilton caught these yellowtail weighing 25 and 52 pounds off La Jolla, California. Both fish were caught on the XRAP 30 in Blue Mac. If you look closely, you can still see the baits in the fish’s mouth! Hamilton is the lucky winner of a 5-day fishing trip with us.
