Howdy anglers, Today was another great day fishing for yellowtails and once again we’re stoked! We had steady angling all day and everyone is happy. The size of the fish were once again–all good-grade fish up to 30lbs So we’re headed up the line to give ourselves some time to fish for color–we’re gonna try for some bottom grabbers for a couple of hours in the morning and call it a great trip. Tip of the day when yoyo fishing: You cant wind fast enough. The faster, the better. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon! Capt. Aaron

Capt Aaron reports good travelling weather as they head first to San Benito. They will arrive this afternoon and are hoping for an afternoon yellowtail bite! He travelled through an area of blue and warmer water earlier today. He reports it could be “tuna water” though none were seen. Full report later!

Capt Aaron called in to report great yellowtail fishing at Sn Benitos so far. They arrived an hour ago and already have 22 nice size (18-20#) fish. He says the conditions are great with bird life, water conditions, and fish. Oh yeah, it’s sunny too!

Howdy anglers, Well this afternoon at San Benito was great. We had a very good few hours of fishing and we’re all stoked! The grade of yellows is good–up to 22lbs. Most of the fishing was with live bait and yoyo jigs. So we’re anchored and gonna do it again tomorrow. Capt Aaron

Hello anglers, One of our valuable customers Jim Tindaro of La Jolla made a suggestion for the blog that I thought I would follow up on. Jim said that yes, it would have been nice to catch some fish, but the bottom line was he had a great time meeting great people and enjoying the food that was served. The boat was great and the crew attentive. Everything we could control was great, he said. Jim has his own boat and likes being out on the water. Jim is exactly right that it is the overall experience of a trip like this that makes it a great value and if you catch fish it is a bonus. Obviously I couldn’t agree more. I always tell everyone we are going to have a great time and we might catch a fish or two. Anyway I was grateful to Jim for sharing that with me last night at dinner especially after two long days in the bridge. You can’t say we didn’t try. We went 150 miles southwest of San Diego and then travelled 150 miles northwest to the San Juan which is 190 miles west of San Diego. So we covered some miles in search of a fish. Capt Aaron is going back out on a 4 day trip and likely will go to Cedros Island. Capt Art

Hello anglers, WE had another frustrating day today. We saw a lot of fish again that didn’t bite. Most of it is bluefin tuna with a few yellowfin and albacore mixed in. We only had two albies today with 13 yellowfin tuna before we had to head home. The good thing is there is plenty of fish around and at some point I really think we are gong to have some great fishing. We are at the dock for a couple of days and we are leaving on a 1.5 day Thursday and there is plenty of room. There is some albacore at 110 miles and if you are there on the right day, there has been some good fishing in the past couple of days. Capt Art
