Hello anglers, Well another tough day on the albacore grounds. We started in the same place that we saw good signs yesterday with high hopes for today. We saw a few fish in the morning and that didn’t last past 8am. We decided to work southeast towards our last trip’s area and managed to land 30 fish for our efforts. I think everyone had a chance to catch an albie and everyone caught at least one. More next trip, Capt Art

Hello anglers, Today we were offshore 100 miles southwest of San Diego. There are good signs of albacore out here with plenty of fish around. They didn’t bite all that well today however. We managed to land 28 fish, in mixed sizes from 15 -22 pounds. The weather is calm and we are hopeful that tomorrow is our day. There is some good news for longer trips with some bigger albies being caught today at around 200 miles from home. It just so happens we are leaving on a 5-day trip in a couple of days and so we are hopeful we will get a shot at those fish. There is plenty of room on the next trip, so if you are interested in a light load trip, call our office and take advantage of some good fishing. More tomorrow, Capt Art

July 9 — Day’s end

Hello anglers, We had a tough day today with plenty of fish seen, just not a lot caught. We ended up with 36 albies in the 15 to 25 pound class. There were troll fish as well as bait fish. Some boats had better days and some boats didn’t do as well. There are still good signs of fish and one of these days they will bite! We plan to be there. Thanks to Patrick Gee for his help and great representation of Lets Talk Hook-up/On The Water Shimano Seminars. We look forward to having him back in August. We still have space on that trip. Don’t miss out on some great tackle to use and lots of giveaways. More next trip from the same area, Capt Art

July 9 — Noon report

Hello anglers, We are 120 miles from San Diego trying for those darn albies again. We have 28 fish aboard so far and we see fair signs today, with fish on top and a few troll fish. We are hoping this afternoon picks up a little. Yesterday was better in the afternoon than the morning so we hope that happens today. The weather is still great with very little wind. More later, Capt Art

Hello anglers, We finished the day with 64 nice-grade albacore. The majority of the fish were caught on live bait with a few fish on the troll. We saw good signs of fish today with action throughout the day and not too much time between stops or seeing something. The weather is great with no wind or swell and the forecast looks good for the next few days. Leaving again tomorrow for another 1.5 day trip with Let’s Talk Hook Up. Pete Gray made the trip this time and caught 2 nice albies. A good time was had by all. More to come, Capt Art
