Hey anglers, We had another excellent day of fishing at Cedros Island. Most of the fish landed today were in the 25 pounds plus size. We caught some mackerel for bait last night and so they came in handy for those better-grade fish. The method of choice was 40 pound line and 5/0 or 6/0 hook flyline mackerel. Everyone caught close to their limit of yellowtail today and so we elected to try offshore this afternoon. Unfortunatley we didn’t have any success with the tuna. We have great weather and we are going to try offshore tomorrow for dorado and yellowfin tuna. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Hey anglers, Today we had great fishing for yellowtail in the morning. Most of the fish are in the 18-22 pound range, with a few 25 pounders mixed in. Most of the fish were landed using flyline live sardines. A few fish were landed on yo-yo iron and dropper-loop. The weather is great with no wind. Since we are in the lee of Cedros, there is no sea. The water is 73 degrees and clean green–perfect for yellows. We did have an unusual catch this morning–one of the customers landed a 30 pound yellowfin tuna. We don’t usually catch tuna in the shallows here at Cedros. Looking forward to tomorrow, Capt Art

Hey anglers, Today we spent the day offshore looking for yellowfin tuna and dorado. Only a few fish were landed on the kelps today–it was pretty slow. We had good conditions with calm seas and very little wind, perfect for finding kelps. The water temp was 69 and blue. Unfortunately our efforts didn’t pay off. We are looking forward to tomorrow at Cedros Island with good reports from other boats today. Capt Art

Hey anglers, We travelled north most of the day in choppy weather with a short stop on the coast to try for yellowtail. We were rewarded with excellent fishing! The yellows were in the 12 to 18 pound range. They were biting yo-yo irons really well–blue and white and scrambled were the best colors. Everyone had a great time and now we are headed home. All in all we had a great trip with some great fishing, but some challenging weather. We had only one wahoo this trip–it wasn’t in the cards to have good fishing for those fish this trip. Dear anglers: We had excellent fishing today at The Ridge on 20-40# yellowfin tuna. Most were caught with a live sardine on 40# test line. There were a few dorado mixed in as well. The water is 82-degrees. We all had a good time, but Eric Kinoshita had two fish in the 60-70# range today. We are headed for the coast to fish for yellowtail tomorrow.
