Howdy anglers, Today was a good day with steady action on kelps. The weather was good too. We have 119 mixed fish including yellowfin, yellowtail, and dorado. So we’re headed in with a total of 331 mixed fish. We will be back out on a 6-day trip tomorrow with Capt Art at the helm. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water, Capt Aaron
Capt Aaron is fishing kelp paddies offshore and had about 20 dorado, 7 yellowfin tuna and an albacore before 8 a.m.! Weather is gorgeous. Wish them continued luck.
Howdy anglers, Today we had a great day of fishing and weather! We were fishing kelps and there were plenty of those. The ones with the fish were more spread out. We caught fish on almost all the kelps we stoped on and some we caught more than what was expected. So we’re gonna do it again tomorrow and hope to repeat what we did today. The weather prediction is in our favor tomorrow. We ended up with 212 mixed fish including yellowfin, albacore, dorado and yellowtail. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water, Capt. Aaron

Hello anglers, Today we finished our trip with a little action on decent size yellowtail–12 to 22 pounds. Most of the fish were caught on flyline sardine with a few fish caught on yo-yo jigs, blue and white. We only had a couple of hours to fish and we managed to land 44 fish. The weather today was great–clear skies and calm seas. We are headed home with a great catch of fish and we will be at the dock around 8:30am. Capt Art
Capt Art called in with 80 of those nice-grade yellowtail for the morning (25-40# each). He’s planning to scout around a bit this afternoon.
Capt Art can’t send a report right now, but he repors they had excellent yellowtail fishing yesterday at Isla Cedros. The fish are 25-40# and the primary catch method was fly-lining a live bait. They left the island and are checking out a spot on the way home. Weather is a bit choppy today. More later!
Hello anglers, Today we spent the day trying for yellowtail. We are at Cedros Island and the conditions are good with with warm, clean water. We moved around quite a bit, trying different spots and landed 75 yellowtail and three dorado. That’s a little on the slow side for this place, but we still had some action. There is quite a bit of barracuda and bonito mixed in so it makes it difficult to land a yellowtail when you have to get a bait through other fish. We elected to stay and try for those good-grade yellowtail tomorrow. We will try to replenish our bait supply with mackerel. I am hoping that will help with the bigger yellows. More tomorrow, Capt Art
Hello anglers, Today we elected to stay offshore and look for kelp paddies instead of going straight to Guadalupe Island. The fishing at the island is a bit slow currently. We were really lucky and found good fishing on kelps. There were mixed fish on one kelp: good-grade dorado from 12 to 20 pounds, yellowfin tuna 15 to 25 pounds, and yellowtail 12 to 15 pounds. Every kelp had a sign of fish! The weather was good with a little chop. The water temp was 72 degrees. Everyone had a great time and landed a nice-size dorado. We are headed to Cedros Island to try for those good-grade yellowtail. More tomorrow, Capt Art If you are preparing for an upcoming Alijos Rocks/Ridge Trip, here’s a few tackle tips from Capt Art:
