Howdy anglers, Today was a amazing day! Once again the fishing and the weather were in our favor. We had a steady day of albacore fishing–all very nice-size fish, up to 40lbs. We totaled 98 of those beauties and shortly before dark we saw some jumpers and had a 3-hour bite on 25 to 70 pounders. We ended up with 77 of those and we also got a nice bluefin in the grey. To top off the wonderful trip we got to add a shortbilled spearfish to the report. We totalled 176 fish for the day and we are stoked. So happy angling and hope to see ya on the water, Capt Aaron

At 10 a.m. we had 35 good-grade albacore, 5 yellowfin tuna and 1 bluefin tuna for our charter group of 21 folks. Still fishin’! Weather is great. End of day: What a day! 98 albacore, 77 yellowin, 1 bluefin. in tomorrow and back out for more!

Hello anglers, We spent the afternoon 110 miles from home fishing for big albies, yellowfin tuna and blufin tuna. We had great fishing, good weather and a lot of fun! We landed 64 albacore with all the fish in excess of 25 pounds with some fish weighing over 40 pounds. We also landed 19 yellowfin tuna in the 18 to 25 pound range. We had several troll fish and one trolling lure stood out as being really hot with fish on almost every rotation. It was a Braid speedster, green and yellow. This was a great way to end a good 5-day trip. The group was great and Steve Carson from Penn university did a great job and had lots of tackle raffle off. Everyone went home with something to add to their box. Tanner Huffer from San Clemente received the sportsman of the trip award and won a new tackle box. Jim Hendricks won the artificial lure contest and won a new rod and reel. Steve also brought several demo outfits with Penn rods and reels and everyone had a chance to use that equipment with positive results. Penn is still one of the leading tackle manufacturers in my opinion. Capt Kevin will be bringing the boat out today on a 1.5 day trip and I will be back on board next month. The outlook is good for the next month with lots of albies still around. Capt Art

Hello anglers, Today we were at Guadalupe Island. We worked very hard in tough conditions to land 19 quality yellowfin tuna. We had a goal of getting everyone at least one fish but we fell short by 5 passengers. There is still a good sign of fish there. They aren’t biting very well and they were difficult to see with 25 knots of wind. It’s difficult to see even dolphin in those conditions. We are heading back to the north tonight to try for albacore, yellowfin tuna, and bluefin tuna. The weather is great and boats in the albie area had good fishing. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Hello anglers, Today was a completely different day with plenty of fish seen, but the fish didn’t bite as well today. We had 30 albacore (all nice, big ones), 7 bluefin tuna (in the 40 pound range) and 5 yellowfin tuna in the 20 pound range. The conditions were the same with a nice temperature edge to work on and plenty of fish, just not as many landed. We are headed to Guadalupe Island tonight and we will arrive in the morning with hopes of lots of action on 40 to 70 pound yellowfin tuna. The weather is great with very little wind. Hello anglers, We enjoyed excellent fishing for albacore, a few yellowfin tuna and a few 40 to 50 pound bluefin tuna! All the fish were taken on live sardines with a few troll fish as well. The great thing about today was the size of the albies. All the fish are in excess of 25 pounds and the biggest is at least 40 pounds. The weather is great and we have a window of good weather through tomorrow so we are staying the night and fishing all day tomorrow. We plan to head to Guadalupe tomorrow night. We have two gentleman from Philadelphia aboard, Jim Tomlin and Frank Hendricks. They got exposed to great offshore fishing, California-style. They both had a great time. And Steve Carson is here to lend his knowledge to the group on this Penn University trip. He is trying a new Penn spinning reel and landed two nice albacore on the new reel! More tomorrow, Capt Art
