Since the fish are at a distance, we are trying to get underway early on the 1.5 day trips. Please arrive by the check-in time of 4 p.m. (on 1.5 day trips only). Leave yourself extra time for traffic, parking, and a tackle shop purchase. Thank you!
Capt Kevin has about 30 albacore, 20 yellowtail, and 7 dorado aboard so far (29 anglers). He says they have been scratching at the tuna all day and is hoping to find a bigger school to drive over this afternoon. Another boat in the area had a stop for 20 tuna earlier. The weather is great and the forecast says it should stay that way in the near future. The arrival on Thursday will be late morning. Stay tuned!
Hello anglers, Today was a repeat of yesterday with slow fishing in the morning. Unfortunately the weather is up today with 15 to 18 knots and it was choppy. We did see a good school of bluefin tuna that gave us hope for the afternoon but it didn’t want to bite. Other boats in the area also saw some bluefin tuna. After lunch we had a couple of short stops on albacore and around 3 pm we saw a school of bluefin tuna that boiled on our chum. We stopped and caught 6 albacore. It was exciting for a few minutes with fish jumping and boiling on our chum. We were running short on time and we managed to catch a few more albacore before we had to head home. We ended up landing 23 albacore for the day. The encouraging thing is that some of the boats had stops on bluefin tuna after we left. We hope that with the weather forecast getting better our next trip will produce good fishing. There seems to be a better fish bite with good weather and fish biting recently. Capt Kevin will be running the next three trips so look forward to his reports. Capt Art
Anglers: Art reported a few albacore caught early this morning but will call in with the day’s report later. Due to on-line booking and call-in reservations happening simultaneously, the July 17-19 is overbooked by one. There are lots of spots open now on the July 19-21 trip in case anyone would like to switch. Book soon! celia
Hello anglers, Today we started our day with a few albacore at sunrise and then we drove around for most of the day with just an occasional jig strike. After 6 pm we had our best action with a stop at dark for 35 albacore and 20 bluefin tuna up to 50 pounds. The Iwamura family did really well, landing 8 of the 20 bluefin tuna. Gary had 5 of the 8! We ended up landing 71 albacore and 20 bluefin tuna. The weather is great and so we are hopeful for an earlier bite tomorrow. There are still a few openings on our 1.5 day trip leaving the 19th, call Celia and get in on some of this great fishing. You will need a 25 and a 40 pound outfit and some 2/0 to 4/0 j-hooks for live bait fishing. More tomorrow, Capt Art
wedding ring found on board…gentlemen, check your ring fingers!
The gang on the Let’s Talk Hook-up and Shimano seminar trip today have 90 albacore and 1 bluefin for their morning so far! The weather is great too!
