8:30 a.m. report from the 1.5 day trip: We are fishing 110 miles southeast of San Diego and we found a school of 12-20 pound bluefin. We’ve landed 15 of them so far, with several more hook-ups. There’s also albacore around–we’ve got just two so far. The weather is good too. Wish us luck for the rest of the day! Capt Kevin p.s. Happy Birthday, Kevin!

Hey Anglers, Timing is everything, including sometimes for fishing too! There had been good signs of albacore and bluefin tuna for the past 4 or 5 days, but not today. The fish disappeared today and it just so happens we’re out here on a 1.5 trip. Most of the fleet has less than 20 fish per boat–there is one boat with 35 albacore and another boat had a lucky kelp paddie for a bunch of small yellow tail. We ended up with 7 albacore, 3 bonito, and 1 yellow tail. The weather is good and hopefully the fish will reappear tomorrow or the next day. There are still some spots available on our next 1.5 trip, hopefully the fish are up and biting. More next trip, Capt Art
Hello anglers! We are leaving on a 1.5 day trip this afternoon and will report from the tuna grounds tomorrow. Wish us luck! Two boats from Fishermans Landing have been in the area over the last few days. One boat had 60 albacore and 14 bluefin two days ago, and yesterday another boat had 25 albacore. More tomorrow, Capt Art p.s. We have room on our Jul 1-3 trip, if you want to try your luck with these albacore!

Hey anglers, Today we are in a different area 140 miles from San Diego. Yesterday there were albacore and bluefin tuna caught by another boat here. We saw lots of fish on the surface but they wouldn’t bite that well. We managed to land 28 albies in the 15 to 20 pound range. Some of the other boats in the area had better luck on some of the spots, so they had a little better fish count. The encouraging thing is that this is a different area with what appears to be good signs of fish. Things have definately changed for the better with more fish showing up all the time. There has been a lot of bluefin tuna seen in several different locations so there is hope for the up coming trips. Capt Art
Hey anglers, Well, have you heard the phrase “you should have been here yesterday?” That is what happened today. We went for the home-run by travelling 215 miles on our 3-day trip and the fish didn’t know we were coming. They weren’t there waiting for us unfortunately. We only had one albacore today. The weather is great and we have high hopes for tomorrow. One of the other long-range boats found some fish in a different area and we will be there in the morning. Also there is some good news from the overnight fleet. There was bluefin tuna caught at 50 miles today and hopefully we can take advantage of that on our 1.5 day trips. More then, Capt Art
