Hey anglers The albies bit today and there were some great stops, putting together a great day. The grade of fish was great–20lbs up to 35lbs. The ticket today was to have heavier line, like 30lb with some flourocarbon. That really helped boat the fish a lot faster. The hot color all day trolling seemed to be purple and black. Even after the sun came out. Our weather is ok, so we’re gonna sit it out for another day and hope to put another day together like today. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon. Capt Aaron

A big thank you to Shimano, Pete Gray/Let’s Talk Hook-up, Steven Pinard/Dana Landing, and the instructors, Patrick Gee and Barry Brightenburg, for all their work to put On-the-Water Seminars aboard Searcher! The camaraderie, great prizes and chance to try out all the Shimano gear is much appreciated. We look forward to the 2008 trips. Art and Celia

Hey anglers: We’re off again on a 3-day trip and off to go chase around some albacore. It seems like there’s a possibility to make a catch of ’em. Look for our report tomorrow. Our weather is enjoyable too. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon. Capt Aaron

Hey anglers: We finished the trip with a bang and we feel very lucky for what we caught. Today we found totally different conditions from yesterday. The water moved down and the kelps were even harder to come by. We didn’t catch our first fish until after lunch …but it was a good one! Then we found another kelp shortly after that, just before we had to call it a trip. We caught 36 yellows up to 30lbs and 19 dorados up to 20lbs. Here’s a little tip for fishing kelps for these fish. Those using a bigger hook than normal landed more fish, because when these fish bite they really bite! Our traveling weather is wonderful. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon, Capt Aaron

Hey anglers, We had an “OK day” today. The weather was a little rolly but we caught some fish. The kelps were kinda scarce, but we managed to make a day of it. We’ve got 56 yellowtail and 20 dorado. The yellows were up to 25lbs and the bull dorado went 20lbs. so the ones we caught were good’uns. We are going to stick it out tonight and give it our all tomorrow before we have to call it a trip. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water. Capt Aaron
Departure for Let’s Talk Hook-Up Shimano seminar
Hey anglers: We’re off again on a 3-day trip. We got a amazing load of bait and we’re hoping to put it to good use tomorrow fishing kelps for yellowtail and dorado with all this great Shimano gear. Our weather forecast is looking in our favor and we’re hoping that it is correct. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water, Capt Aaron

Hey anglers: Today we had some pretty decent fishing for the amount of time that we had to fish kelps. The yellowtail were nice-sized and ranged up to 25lbs. We had 61 of the tag-able yellows and 4 dorado. There was a good chance to catch a few fish off of the right kelp. Fishing the right line size was important today. 30lb and up was needed to keep those yellows out of the kelp and be able to bring the fish up to the boat. We called the trip over in the early afternoon unfortunately, due to the fact that we were a good distance from home. Hope to see you on the water soon and good angling! Capt Aaron p.s. Thank you to Izorline pro-staffers Wendy Tochihara and Bob Horton for their support of this trip. See you next year!

Hey anglers, Well we had a little slower day on the water compared to yesterday. Today’s catch was 22 albies, four bluefin, two yellowtail, and one dorado. We are moving out of this area this afternoon, hoping to catch a few more this afternoon before we go for more yellowtail and dorado on kelp patties tomorrow. We are hoping to have a great last day before we have to head home. The ocean was full of life though. We saw fish that just didn’t seem interested in the food we had for them, numerous whales, several pods of common dolphin, lots of bait balls and lots of birds. Our weather is still nice–less than 15 knots of wind (which is around 17 mph for those wondering). Good angling and hope to see ya on the water, Capt Aaron

Captain Kevin reported in at 9:30 a.m. that he is in the albacore zone. They have 24 aboard already and they were making another stop with biting fish. These fish are 25-35 #. The weather is good too.
