Gold Coast Road Trip 2017: Day 1

Team Searcher’s 2017 road trip up to the Gold Coast is underway!

Our first stop was at The Longfin tackle shop in Orange, CA. We met Eric and his crew, and talked about current fishing conditions and what customers were purchasing for their tackle boxes this season.20170509_121303

Visiting with the Gold Coast Lady Anglers

IMG_4039 Capt. Art and Crewman Ben offered tackle tips and gear advice for multi-day trips at GCLA’s May meeting. They also demonstrated several knots and connections to use for fishing success. We had a blast playing games and raffling off some amazing prizes! Our top raffle prize, a $250 gift certificate for a Searcher Sportfishing trip in 2017, went to Susan D.! She is going to join the Lady Angler Searcher Special 3-day tuna trip.

A special thank you to our hosts, Sophia and Kevin, and all the club members for including Team Searcher!

Trip #11 July 27-Aug 1, day 2

Hello anglers: Excellent yellowtail fishing this morning! Most of the fish have been caught on live sardine and 40 pound line, with a few fish on artificial lures–primarily blue and white–and 40 – 60 pound test. Everyone is having a great time, the sun is out the seas are calm, it doesn’t get much better than this. Todas photo is Capt Kenny with Wendy Tochihara from Izorline and a nice yellowtail.DSC00011
