Trip 21 (1.5 day) Aug 31-Sep 2 Turner’s Outdoorsman Open

Hello anglers:

Well, our slow morning turned around a little bit! After lunch, we started hooking and landing a few good-grade bluefin tuna. These fish are 60-90 pounds. Here is Don Gaskill from Dublin, CA with his bluefin tuna! Capt Ryan and Chef Dan lent hand.trip21dongaskill

Anglers are making good use of all the swag donated by Turner’s Outdoorsman and enjoying the company of pro-staffers Lori Sachau and Jason Rasmussen

Day’s end update:

Hello all,
We had a memorable afternoon today with good action on 60-90 pound bluefin tuna..Everyone had a great opportunity to land a quality tuna. Live sardine was the hot method, with 40 pound mono and flourocarbon, and a small circle hook.

Check out Lori Sachau from Turners Outdoorsman in San Marcos and her nice bluefin tuna!trip21lori (Nice ladies boots, too–thank you Xtratuf!)Thanks to Turners for all the angler swag today and the support throughout this season.

September 23 trip’s end and a look to the future

Hello anglers: We changed things up today and tried along the coast for yellowtail. We had enough tuna and dorado for everyone. We saw a sign of yellowtail in a couple of different places today, but they didn’t want to bite. The ones we landed were good size–18-25 pound fish. Almost everyone landed one. Capt Richie and Richard Yoshioka from La Palma, CA are pictured with a nice yellowtail.sep 19-24 yoshioka
We are headed home after a great trip with plenty of action and variety. These 14 passenger trips are great–everyone loves them, including us. They are very low key with lots of room for everyone. There is a 14-passenger trip in October that has some room on it. Treat yourself and join us!
Speaking of our later trips, things are shaping up down south with signs of wahoo, yellowfin tuna and lots of yellowtail on the coast for the way down or the way home. Looking forward to getting down below for a change of scenery and a chance at a wahoo.
