Trip 9: 6-day (Jul 29-Aug 4) Izorline Open

August 1st, 2019|Trip Reports|

Hello anglers,
We are enjoying some good fishing at Guadalupe Island again this morning. There’ve been plenty of bites on flyline sardines with a 2/0 circle Owner hook and 50 pound Izorline with 50 pound fluorocarbon.

Hope the action continues and everyone’s stamina lasts! Here is long-time Searcher customer Ken R. and a nice 60 pound tuna. The weather is tremendous with sunny skies and light winds.

More later.

Trip 9: 6-day (Jul 29-Aug 4) Izorline Open

July 31st, 2019|Trip Reports|

Hello anglers,

We had pretty good action on 50-75 pound yellowfin tuna at Guadalupe Island today! A live sardine on 40 and 50 pound Izorline and an Owner 2/0 circle hook were the method of choice. Some fish were landed using the kite as well.

Here is JK Fujimoto with a nice tuna landed using our kite outfit: a Seeker rail rod, a twin drag 2-peed Accurate Fishing Products reel, and 100 pound test leader. Hoping for more of the same tomorrow!

Trip 9: 6-day (Jul 29-Aug 4) Izorline Open

July 30th, 2019|Trip Reports|

Hello anglers:

We decided to stop offshore based on the reports from yesterday and the weather conditions. We were trying for yellowtail associated with kelp paddies. We had some action and we did catch a few.

Here is Darren F with a yellowtail landed on one of our outfits from Seeker Rods and Accurate Fishing products. Darren, his brother and father, Izorline pro-staffer Norm Fujimoto, have been fishing with us since they were young boys!

We will be at Guadalupe Island tomorrow at daylight.

Trip 8: 2.5-day (Jul 26-29) Limited Load

July 28th, 2019|Trip Reports|

Good afternoon anglers,

This morning we are enjoying calm seas and light winds. We have been paddy hopping and have some good success on nice-size yellowtail.

We have caught fish on yoyo jigs, surface irons, and fly-lined sardines. Here is a nice picture of chartermaster Bill Hofferber with one of many quality yellowtail. Wish us luck for the rest of the afternoon.

Good afternoon anglers:

Today we are offshore fishing kelp paddies with our group of friends, families, and new friends! There are are plenty of kelps around and we are having some luck catching yellowtail and dorado on them. All fish have been caught on a fly-lined live bait with 30lb test. Here is Hunter B with a yellowtail he caught this morning.

We are going to keep working at it. Wish us luck!

Trip 7: 6-day (Jul 20-26) Izorline and Turner’s Outdoorsman Open

July 25th, 2019|Trip Reports|

Hello anglers,

We travelled northwest today looking at kelp paddies. This afternoon we found a couple of kelps that had some yellowtail on them, so everyone had a chance to tag a yellowtail. The fish were up to 20 pounds. Here’s a few of the lucky anglers who caught a yellowtail today. We enjoyed our trip with Wendy, Lori, Izorline and Turner’s Outdoorsman, and all our wonderful customers!

We return to the dock tomorrow, and Captain Shawn will take our weekend trip out. Stay tuned
