Searcher Sportfishing Trip #35 Report | Knee Deep Brewing Co. Sponsored | Aug 31 – Sep 2, 2026

Searcher’s checking in with a trip report from our last trip. We returned home Wednesday morning from our Knee Deep Brewing Co. Sponsored 2-Day Trip #35, 8/31/26 to 9/2/26. Monday, we arrived on scene just in time to get a good shot late night on 30-50lb bluefin. Yesterday was a nice day on the anchor as well today fly lining for 25-80lb bluefin.

Thank you to Jim Niemiec from Western Outdoor News for joining us on the trip! When he wasn’t busy taking great notes and photos, he landed a nice bluefin!

Currently, we’re out on trip #36, round two with a second Knee Deep Brewing Co. Sponsored 2-Day, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, to Friday, September 4, 2026.

Tackle Tip Thursday Vol. 233 (Drop-shot Rig)

Happy Tackle Tip Thursday!

Steve Carson, pro-staffer with Penn Fishing, showcases a good outfit to have and a technique to become familiar with before targeting bigger-size bluefin tuna.

This requires an angler to select and use an outfit with heavy line, and a circle hook and sinker to reach fish when at depth and when live bait is working best.

Thank you to Steve for his time and experience in all things having to do with saltwater angling and Penn Fishing Tackle!
