1.5 day BFT
Hello anglers: We are out on a 1.5 day Lets Talk Hook Up/Shimano seminar trip. Currently we are 85 miles from home and we have had a chance to catch some 40-70 pound bluefin tuna this morning. We haven’t landed very many–six so far. And we have one fish hooked. It doesn’t happen very often when you get a chance at this size fish on a shorter trip like this so we are feeling pretty fortunate. Dave Goske is pictured with Capt Art and a nice 50 pound bluefin tuna. We have caught a few snall bluefin and some small yellowtail as well. There is a lot of time left and other boats are seeing schools of fish, More later, Team Searcher
This 3-day trip had 28 anglers and they caught 152 yellowtail, 13 bluefin tuna and 4 dorado. The jackpot winners are:
Hello anglers: It is great to be on this trip again with all the familiar faces that were great friends of Dick Uranga. We are honored to take this group out in memory of Dick.He was a great man and a very dear friend of the Searcher family. The weather has been great. The fishing has been slow so far. We made the long run down to 165 miles where there has been good fishing for bluefin tuna. Unfortunately we had the wrong day. We only caught three bluefin for our efforts, with a few small yellowtail and two nice dorado. We have moved up closer to home to get more fishing time.We have had some action on small yellowtail so far and we are headed to an area where other boats are seeing signs of bluefin tuna. We will be there this afternoon.

Tough day finding the fish yesterday…
Searcher pulled away from the dock around noon with a few of Dick’s friends and some future friends, to share the love and fun Dick had for sportfishing–especially the way he shared with us aboard Searcher. We miss you, Dickie, but are carrying on your tradition. And we collected over $1500 for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network!
This 5-day trip had 14 anglers and they caught 65 bluefin tuna, 12 yellowfin tuna, 5 dorado, and 65 yellowtail. The jackpot winners are:
Howdy anglers: Today was mostly a travel day, though we stopped and dropped a line without much success. The weather is great and we’re headed home to turn around for a 3-day.
Good angling and hope to see you on the water soon.

Howdy anglers: We had slow start today, but a nice steady pace to finish the day off. We had a nice afternoon fishing for yellowtail and the grade was primo. The smallest yellow was 15 lbs and the the size goes up to 30. We’re going to fish for a couple of hours tomorrow before we call it a trip. Hope to see you on the water soon.

During a recent 5-day trip, Armando sketched this nice bluefin, maybe AFTER catching the second-place jackpot fish!
