Hey anglers, We travelled until 2:30pm today and finally made it to the 13-fathom bank. We bucked a current the whole way south. We were rewarded with some great yellowfin tuna fishing. The fish are in the 15 to 35 pound class. Most of the fish were caught with live bait and we had the best fishing later in the day. The weather is great with 85 degrees surface temperatures and 81 degree water temp. Also we had a big whale shark around the boat on the surface for about an hour we hope to see that again. Anglers are on their way to the Uncle Sam Bank and should be fishing at lunchtime tomorrow. This morning was spent with tackle and rigging seminars and lots of gear preparation. Hello anglers, We looked offshore today and had great weather. Unfortunately there weren’t alot of kelp paddies and the ones we found didn’t have any fish on them. But we enjoyed beautiful conditions all day–71.5-degree, blue water. Our last kelp produced a few small tuna and some nice dorado so the last stop of the trip we had some action. We will be in at 7am tomorrow. Prospects for good fishing on the next trip look good–lots of yellowfin tuna and a few wahoo on the Ridge and good yellowtail on the coast. Hey anglers, Today we had excellent yellowtail fishing on the coast south of Cedros island. Most of the fish were landed on yo-yo iron blue and white and 50 pound line. There were a few fish caught on live bait. Everyone got what they needed as far as yellowtail is concerned. All the fish are in the 12 to 18 pound range. We travelled north to Cedros for the afternoon to try for those big yellows. Unfortunately we didn’t find very many. We are headed offshore tonight to see if we cant get lucky and find a few more dorado on kelp paddies. The weather is great with very little wind and no sea. More tomorow, Capt Art

Hello anglers, Today we spent offshore looking for dorado on kelp paddies. We were successful finding several kelps, most of which had no fish on them. The conditions were great with good weather and good enough lighting to see a long ways. We did connect on one kelp that had a good school of nice-grade dorado–12 to 20 pounds and most were landed with live bait and 40-pound test. Everyone caught a few and we all had fun doing it. We are headed to the coast tonight and will arrive at daylight tomorrow morning to try for yellowtail. Looking forward to some action, Capt Art p.s. Hello anglers, There is a really good sign of yellowfin tuna at Guadalupe Island! If you can get past the sharks, there is a chance for a 70 to 100 pound one. For some people that is a fish of a lifetime. There is also a few nice-size yellowtail mixed in. Today was slower for us than yesterday. We landed fewer tuna, but the ones we caught were good ones. We are headed east to look for kelp paddies and will be headed up the coast for yellowtail. We accomplished our goal to give everyone a chance at a quality yellowfin tuna. We ended our stay at Guadalupe with a few nice yellowtail on the bottom after dark. There were a few minutes where every bait was a bite. It didn’t last long but we had our chances.
