Hey anglers, Today we had great albacore fishing! We landed 94 fish and we stayed busy with jig strikes and meter marks most of the day. The hot trolling lure was a cedar plug today. As usual, a flyline sardine and 25 pound line worked the best. I don’t think we had a fish on artificial lures today. We are going to try to add some other species to our catch list in the next few days. The weather is great with less than 10 knots of wind and the sea has diminished as well. The forecast looks good for the next few days. We have some new 1.5 day trips added to the schedule for those of you who would like to jump aboard for a shorter trip. Hope to see you soon, Capt Art

Hey anglers, We had an OK day fishing albacore today. We managed to land 40 fish averaging 20 pounds, with the smallest being 15 pounds and the largest about 30 pounds. The majority of the fish were caught flylining sardines on the upwind side of the boat on 25 and 30 pound line. Some fish were landed with flourocarbon, and some without so take your pick. It wasn’t key to have flourocarbon. The hot trolling feather was a black and purple Zuker with a pink skirt. We are staying in the same area for tomorrow and we have high hopes. The weather will be better according to the forecast so hopefully the fish will bite a little better. Capt Art

Howdy anglers, Today was a taste of what longfin fishing is supposed to be like–meter marks spinning circles, boils in the cirlces followed by jig strikes, and then leading to bait fish. We had good sign in the afternoon and the schools wanted to bite a bit. I can definitely say that the brighter-colored trolling feathers were getting strikes over all the others. and using a smaller wired hook, not the super thin ones and no bigger than a 2/0, with a good bait was almost the best technique possible. We are headed home tonight with 58 longfins ranging 12 to 32 pounds and we are stoked compared to how the fishing out here has been. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon, Capt. Aaron

Howdy anglers, Well today we fished at San Martin and the local high spots around it. The conditions were great but the current was just ripping at about 3 mph. It was very hard to keep a 16 ounce sinker on the bottom. But we were able to catch a few yellows along with some bottom grabbers. We made a couple of drifts in the lee of the island and captured a nice halibut and managed to get a couple of yellows along the way. So we are on our way home and will be leaving tomorrow on a 1-1/2 trip. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon. Capt. Aaron

Howdy anglers, Well we didn’t exactly get our revenge we were hoping for today and the other boats around us didn’t either. The fishing was slow and the weather has freshend up a bit. We are heading towards San Martin island tonight to try for some yellowtails and some other types of bottom grabbers. The little bit of pattern that I have noticed while fishing for these finicky longfins are a good bait with a little smaller hook and trolling the ol’ cedar plug was effective. Also a bright-pattern tuna clone helps keep the feather in the water a bit better. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon, Capt. Aaron
