Hey anglers, We finished our 976-TUNA trip today with a little action–30 albacore for our efforts. We saw enough fish today to have a really good day, but unfortunately the fish didn’t bite. Greg Atkins from Santa Rosa had the hot trolling outfit today. He stopped the boat 6 out of 7 times! The weather was great, with no wind and very little sea. We start a series of 1.5 trips tomorow with Capt Kevin Ward taking the wheel. More next trip, Capt Art
Hey anglers, Today we started close to the same area as yesterday with hopes of finding some biting fish. Unfortunately we saw fish that wouldn’t bite. We heard reports from the one-day fleet of good fishing 30 miles northwest of our position. We elected to move up to that area. We saw some fish but couldn’t find the right scool of biting fish. We ended up with 42 fish for the day and today’s highlight was Brandon Dubuy from West Monroe, Louisiana caught his first albacore today. He caught the fish on the troll. Brandon also hooked a couple of bait fish today but lost them. We have high hopes for tomorrow after seeing quite a bit of fish today. More tomorrow, Capt Art
Hey anglers, Today was our first day of fishing. We started 90 miles south of San Diego. We spent the day in that area and managed to catch 53 nice-size albacore. All the fish were over 20 pounds with some were over 30 pounds. The highlight today was having the Hoffman family aboard for the first time. They are all beginners. They each caught their first albacore and both Danielle and her brother Pat caught two fish each. It is always great to introduce beginners to our great fishery. We saw a good amount of fish today that didn’t bite so we are hopeful for tomorrow. More then, Capt Art
This 4-day trip had 28 albacore and they caught 412 anglers, 1 bluefin tuna, 12 yellowtail, and 2 halibut. The jackpot winners are: (left to right)
