Extended 1.5 day trip: Sep 20-22
Good Afternoon Anglers,
Last night up to the north west last night in search of bluefin tuna. Early in the morning we spotted a school of fish puddling on the surface.
We initially assumed it was bluefin but once we got a little closer, we were very pleasantly surprised to see it was large yellowfin tuna. Once we got on the school we had a few bites right away. We lost quite a few fish due to light line, but once we got our anglers fishing the 40 pound we started bringing them over the rail. These are big fish,Megan landed a 74 pounder! We are still on the same drift and picking away with the fly line baits and the kite.

Good evening anglers,
After finishing our long drift for yellowfin tuna this morning, we went on the hunt. We were seeing a lot of large “foamers” of bluefin but they would not cooperate, so we made a move. As evening approached we found the water edge we wanted to be on and found a very large school of big bluefin just beneath the surface. We hooked a big one right away, and as it got dark we put the sinker rigs and flat falls to work. The school stayed with us for a few hours, and we were able to land some very nice fish.
We had an amazing trip with a great group. We are on our way home and will be at the dock in the morning.

Sep 15 (3.5 Day Trip) Private Charter with Matt Boone
Good morning anglers,
We started this morning scratching on 20-30lb yellowtail. We’re hoping we could also catch some bluefin on the anchor as well. Around 9am it didn’t seem like we would, so we moved and stopped on a large flat spot (click to find out what a “flat spot” is!) of mixed grade bluefin 30-100+lbs and we have been plunking ever since.

Good evening anglers,
We were able to sit and drift on that same fish until about 3pm. We made a little move to try catch some big ones this afternoon and tonight we’ve got one on the boat. Good fish around the boat right now. We are hoping for a few more before we put the anchor down for the night.

The crew makes everyone feel so welcome. They go up and beyond making sure everyone is having a good time, helping with tackle setup and overall making sure everyone one is having fun.
Cooking was on point every meal! Deckhands are always there to help you out with your setups. They take the time to answer everyone’s questions while staying on top of their game. Just overall make it feel like an amazing experience, as well as a family.
Every crew member, including Mike and Josh, was very willing to teach us new techniques and how best to fish the targeted species. The working relationship among the crew was outstanding. It is a pleasure to see men enjoy their job and work so well together. Keep up the great attitude and spirit.
Your operation hires solid crew members that make the trip fun. Catching yellowtail on the iron while listening to music in the sun was the highlight of my trip.

Best run operation I’ve ever been on as far as desire of captain and attitude/ teamwork of the crew.
The crew is top notch. Mike knows how to fish hard and find the fish. Josh puts out 5 star meals every meal. The deck crew is always attentive to what’s happening on deck. They want to help with a great attitude and they all work together and get along great. The whole operation is smooooth.
They did everything possible to make it a successful adventure for everyone willing/able to participate.
