Nov 4 (Oct 30-Nov 7) Ultra-limited load

Hello anglers:

We had some tough conditions today with lots of wind. We had a little action on smaller yellowtail and we released some and tagged a few. The wind backed off at noon so we were able to troll around a little. We had a couple people without a wahoo for this trip, so we let them troll and watch all the trolling rods.

One of our long time Searcher family members,  Pat Graham, was lucky enough to land a wahoo. We started travelling north this afternoon to try for yellowtail tomorrow on the coast.

Nov 3 (Oct 30-Nov 7) Ultra-limited load

Hello anglers:

The tuna fishing continues to be good and everyone now has plenty. The weather has changed significantly with more wind, so we’ll be watching where we go from here.

We were able to troll around this morning and had some wahoo action. We are hoping to try again after lunch.

Nov 2 (Oct 30-Nov 7) Ultra-limited load

Hello anglers:

Great action on 12-35# tuna this morning. The tuna started to bite before daylight and continued until 10 am. Everyone had a great chance  at landing a yellowfin. Live sardine was the best method.

We trolled for wahoo and found a few in the afternoon. There was some opportunities and half the group landed a wahoo.

Nov 1 (Oct 30-Nov 7) Ultra-limited load

Hello anglers:

We arrived at the 13 fathom spot ths afternoon. We trolled around for an hour with no wahoo strikes, so we dropped the anchor.

We had some action on 12- 40 pound yellowfin tuna. We stayed busy until sunset and everyone had a chance at a tuna.

We are spending the night and trying again tomorrow.

Oct 31 (Oct 30-Nov 7) Ultra-limited load

Hello anglers:

It’s rigging day.

We had a seminar this morning to cover all the methods possible for the next few days on The Ridge. The great thing about The Ridge is the variety. When you cast out, you never know what you’re going to catch. We hope to have some action on yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, dorado and wahoo.

Everyone is in the process, with crew help, of getting set up for tomorrow afternoon.

Oct 28 (Oct 22-30) Ultra limited load

Good evening,

On the slower side for yellowtail fishing today. We had a good shot in the morning but I think we weren’t quite ready. We saw fish later in the afternoon that didn’t cooperate.  Lots of big bass and other miscellaneous throughout the day though.

Oct 27 (Oct 22-30) Ultra limited load

Good morning,

We are kelping our way up to be in position to fish yellowtail tomorrow. We’ve had a couple good kelps this morning for “all-you-want” dorado. No wahoo on any of them yet. We didn’t tag a whole lot of fish today since anglers are saving tags for tomorrow.

Starting to get a little breezy here now hopefully theres a wahoo kelp on the bow.

Oct 26 (Oct 22-30) Ultra-limited load

Good morning,

Our move seemed to have paid off . We’ve had a few shots at wahoo this morning. We don’t see a whole lot, but the ones we do see bite a little bit so we’re getting a little sample.

We’ll check back later. We’re trying to get another stop here right now.

Good evening,

We had a good day down here on The Ridge.  Some wahoo showed up late morning and we were able to scratch away throughout the day. We got a few good opportunities and scored a little better than a couple around. They are very nice fish–30 to 60#.  Very fun fishing and beautiful weather. We’re moving up the coast tonight to try get a kelp tomorrow.
