Trip #27 Accurate 7-day trip (Oct 19-26)
Good Morning anglers,
With the amount of fish we saw yesterday we opted to stay local this morning and take a shot at these Bluefin tuna again. Before the sun came up we had just enough light to see and spotted a mega school of size extra large bluefin. We had a little shot for a few hours this morning. We hooked around 15-20 80-200lb bluefin before 8:30am. Talk about starting your day off right. The school we stopped on was really a sight to see. They blew up all around the boat. Early in the stop we managed to land a couple of the “smaller” models on your tackle tip of the day flat falls. As the stop progressed we started getting bites on the fly-lined sardine. We then proceeded to get spooled and bit off over and over again. We were definitely out matched and under gunned. Time for us to pack in and move on. We are traveling south to our next destination. Beautiful traveling weather were going to be looking all day on our way south today.
Here’s Me (Captain Mike) and Ted with what was a 90lb class bluefin tuna he landed. Well most of it, this one had its tail bitten off by a mako shark.

Trip #27 Accurate 7-day trip (Oct 19-26)
Good morning anglers,
We left yesterday on our Accurate sponsored 7 day trip. We opted to fish local today due to weather and the quality of fishing in our backyard at the moment. We found a school of mixed grade yellowfin right at day light and managed to pick a few mixed grade yellowfin. Here’s Bob B with an 18lb yellowfin he caught on a flylined sardine. Were off in the hunt for more right now. We’ll check back later.Captain Captain Mike and the boys
Good evening anglers,
We slid out to the west this afternoon and were greeted by giant schools of bluefin tuna and yellowfin tuna. Just after lunch we stopped on a flat spot about a half mile across of mixed bluefin and yellowfin. These were mixed grade fish. The majority of what we caught were 25-35lb yellowfin and they wanted to bite a little bit. Here is Beth with a 30lb yellowfin tune she caught on 30lb test.

Trip #26 Ultra-limited load 7-day trip (Oct 12-19)
Hello anglers,
We had a great day fishing offshore today. We started the day with a school of mixed grade yellowfin tuna and skipjack. We had good action on 10-30 pound tuna and the skipjack were a lot of fun. we released a lot of skipjack and kept a few for poke.
Everyone had their fill of yellowfin and so we decided to head west on a report of bluefin tuna schools. The last part of the day was spent on a big school of 40-55 pound bluefin tuna. They were biting! Capt Mike hooked and handed 10 fish! Not all were landed as usual due to the usual losses that occur with that size fish. We landed 16 of these good size bluefin tuna. Here is a group shot of the lucky anglers who landed at least one.
This was a great ending to a great trip!

Hello anglers,
We had some slow action today at the island, but we had our chances in the afternoon with plenty of fish around. They just weren’t biting as well as we would like. We elected to leave a day early and travel up to the local fishing zone as there has been some excellent fishing for yellowfin tuna there. We will be there early Friday morning and will spend our last day fishing there. Wish us luck.
Here is Dave N and Capt Art with a nice tuna.

Hello anglers,
We’ve had a little slower day today until about 5 pm, when the tuna wanted to bite a little. Everyone had opportunities to land a nice tuna. Here is Gene B and Capt Mike with a nice fish. We have high hopes for tomorrow.

Hello anglers,
We had a nice day overall with plenty of opportunities to catch a quality tuna. And we saw lots of fish all day, but they didn’t bite as well as we hoped. The weather again was awesome, warm and sunny with light winds. We have high hopes for tomorrow.
Here is long-time Searcher customer Dale B with a 51 pound yellowfin, which is a jackpot contender.

Hello anglers,
We arrived at Guadalupe Island Sunday afternoon. It didn’t take long for us to locate some fish and get the anchor down. Then we enjoyed steady action until dark. What a great start on 25-50 pound yellowfin! Live sardines with 30-40 pound line and fluorocarbon were the best method today.
Here is Paul C with a nice 40 pound fish. Oh, and the weather is awesome!
