Trip 11: 6 day (Aug 10-16) Guadalupe Island

Good Afternoon anglers,

This morning we had some tough fishing at the island. but still managed to catch a few nice yellowfin tuna. The sharks were not kind to us, so we headed off the island a few miles and managed to put together a very nice catch.

Here is Dale B. with a 50lb class yellowfin he caught on the kite. We have beautiful weather and all day left to fish still.

Trip 11: 6 day (Aug 10-16) Guadalupe Island

Good evening anglers,

After two days of anticipation we arrived at Guadalupe Island.  We were greeted early with multiple jig strikes several miles short of the island.  When we finally arrived on scene around 3:30pm, we located some yellowfin tuna on the machines and promptly kicked the anchor over.  We managed to hook a few with the limited amount of time we had this afternoon.

Here is Ashley M with a nice 56lb yellowfin tuna.

We are going to stay here tonight and see what tomorrow has to offer.

Good afternoon anglers, Today we are on a day and half trip fishing offshore kelp paddies. We are having some good opportunities at yellowtail and dorado. Today’s Tackle Tip is with 30lb line fluorocarbon and a 3/0 hook. Here is a picture of Maria R. and Justin with a gorgeous dorado.

We are going to keep trying this afternoon. Wish us luck.

Trip 9: 6-day (Jul 29-Aug 4) Izorline Open

Hello angers,

We had some more action on good-size tuna again today. The group was a little slow this morning after the last two days–they are tired! The participation was light at times but everyone had a chance to land a tuna. Here is Tom K with a nice fish from this afternoon.

We are headed north tonight with hopes of trying for a yellowtail on a kelp paddie tomorrow.

Trip 9: 6-day (Jul 29-Aug 4) Izorline Open

Hello anglers,

We had another great fishing day at Guadalupe Island today with plenty of action all day long. Lots of opportunities for a 50-75 pound yellowfin tuna. Live sardines with 40-50 pound line, fluorocarbon with a super mutu owner 2/0 circle hook continue to be the best choice for tackle.  Here is Norm Fujimoto with his son J.K from Izorline with a pair of nice tuna from earlier this afternoon. Norm’s other son Darren landed a couple of fish as well.

We are spending the night and trying again tomorrow. It will be our final day here.

Trip 9: 6-day (Jul 29-Aug 4) Izorline Open

Hello anglers,
We are enjoying some good fishing at Guadalupe Island again this morning. There’ve been plenty of bites on flyline sardines with a 2/0 circle Owner hook and 50 pound Izorline with 50 pound fluorocarbon.

Hope the action continues and everyone’s stamina lasts! Here is long-time Searcher customer Ken R. and a nice 60 pound tuna. The weather is tremendous with sunny skies and light winds.

More later.
