Trip 8: 2.5-day (Jul 26-29) Limited Load
Good afternoon anglers,
This morning we are enjoying calm seas and light winds. We have been paddy hopping and have some good success on nice-size yellowtail.
We have caught fish on yoyo jigs, surface irons, and fly-lined sardines. Here is a nice picture of chartermaster Bill Hofferber with one of many quality yellowtail. Wish us luck for the rest of the afternoon.

Good evening anglers,
This afternoon we stayed offshore and managed to pick up some more dorado and yellowtail. All were caught flylining live bait. Here is a picture of Michael S with one of our many nice dorados. We are staying offshore again tomorrow. Wish us luck.

Good afternoon anglers:
Today we are offshore fishing kelp paddies with our group of friends, families, and new friends! There are are plenty of kelps around and we are having some luck catching yellowtail and dorado on them. All fish have been caught on a fly-lined live bait with 30lb test. Here is Hunter B with a yellowtail he caught this morning.
We are going to keep working at it. Wish us luck!

Hello anglers,
We travelled northwest today looking at kelp paddies. This afternoon we found a couple of kelps that had some yellowtail on them, so everyone had a chance to tag a yellowtail. The fish were up to 20 pounds. Here’s a few of the lucky anglers who caught a yellowtail today. We enjoyed our trip with Wendy, Lori, Izorline and Turner’s Outdoorsman, and all our wonderful customers!
We return to the dock tomorrow, and Captain Shawn will take our weekend trip out. Stay tuned

Hello anglers,
We headed east overnight to an area of yellowfin tuna. We managed to get some action on yellowfin up to 18#. We had lots of chances and saw several spots of fish throughout the day. Not all the spots cooperated with biting fish, but a few did. Live bait was the best method, with 25-40 pound line and a 2/0 J-hook. A few fish were landed using artificial lures. The weather was great with sunny skies and light winds. Here is a group photo of most of the lady anglers on board. We are headed north to look for yellowtail on kelp paddies.

Hello anglers,
Unfortunately, my report has very disappointing fishing results for today. The tuna didn’t show up like they did yesterday. We were very patient, waiting in the same place and offering up nice baiit, but they were elsewhere. We could stay another day but we are ready for some catching on this trip! We are relocating to an area of biting yellowfin tuna. We will be there at daylight, so wish us luck. The weather is great with light winds and no sea conditions, so that is working in our favor.

Hello anglers,
We were pleasantly surprised this morning when the yellowfin tuna started showing around the boat. It started around 8 am and continued until after lunch. Most of the fish we are seeing and landing are around 60 pounds. A couple of fish we landed were 40 pounds. The best method today was a live sardine and 40 pound line and fluorocarbon with a 3/0 circle hook. Here is Judy K with a fish hooked by the crew on a Seeker Rod and an Accurate reel. We are spending the night and trying again tomorrow.
