Trip 29 Oct 7-14 (7-day) Oct 11 PM Report

Howdy anglers,

The tuna were there and they put on a show for us this afternoon.  We started out not so well by losing some due to sharks and tackle failures. We did manage to get some tuna aboard: here is Mike Einstoss with his nice tuna from this afternoon.  We’re gonna spend our last day here looking for more yellowtail and then finish off with some tuna before we head across back to the coast.

Trip 29 Oct 7-14 (7-day) Oct 11 AM Report

Howdy anglers,

A little action for us on the yellowtail today: we had current and the fish were showing themselves but they didn’t want to bite all that well. Here is Paul Schulz with a nice yellowtail caught on a dropperloop on 80lb test.  We’re on the lookout for tuna this afternoon,  wish us luck!

Trip 29 Oct 7-14 (7-day) Oct 10 PM Report

Oct 10, 2017

Howdy anglers,

There was a sign of tuna this afternoon and once again, the sharks had their fill and others were lost due to pulled hooks, line breaks, etc. Anyways,  we landed a couple of the tuna this afternoon,  and here is a big one caught by Ken Yoshida. The scale said 205 lbs: nice fish! We’re gonna try for some yellowtail tomorrow morning and again for some tuna in the afternoon.

Trip 29 Oct 7-14 (7-day) Oct 9 PM Report

Howdy anglers,

There was a little bit of action for us today! We couldn’t get the tuna to stay with us, but we did manage to catch a couple for the afternoon. Here is Chris Klein with his 103lb yellowfin. We’re gonna try for some more yellows in the morning. The weather is flat calm.

Trip 29 Oct 7-14 (7-day) Oct 9 Midday Report

Howdy anglers,

We’ve had a fun morning catching some very nice grade yellowtail and we’re still getting a few more before we head out looking for the yellowfin tuna this afternoon! Here is Jeff Kealoha with a very nice yellowtail and Thom Carney showing us how to fish in a very comfy way.

Trip 29 Oct 7-14 (7-day) Oct 8 Reports

Oct 8, 2017 Morning Report:

Howdy anglers,

no kelps this morning for us… the conditions are perfect, just need a kelp with some fish. The weather is nice, though –  and we’re stoked about that.

More later,

Evening Report:

Howdy anglers,

slow day for us all day: we saw a fair amount of very large kelps but they were all blank, unfortunately.  Headed to the island –  be there tomorrow in the morning.
