Good Afternoon,

We’re out on trip #7, Kyle Lanford’s charter with the crew from IBEW 477. 1.5-day, Friday, May 30 to Sunday, June 1, 2025. Friday afternoon we drove out of Fisherman’s Landing and arrived at the zone late last night. We were able to make a couple stops count and the big ones kept on biting. Today we’ve been doing some rockfishing and plan on targeting more tunas before heading back in the morning.

May 24th, 2025|Categories: Trip Reports|

Hello Anglers,

Searcher left Fisherman’s Landing Friday morning on trip #5, Memorial Day Weekend, May 23 – 26, 2025. Last night we had some decent opportunities despite the nautical weather and we stayed busy until the fish vanished. Today we spent our morning catching some cod before we head back to the tuna zone tonight.

We also have been enjoying some good homemade meals prepared by Josh and Jeff. Last night we had seasoned pork chops with mashed potatoes and asparagus with a balsamic glaze. Today’s lunch was Linguini Bolognese.

We’ve got spots open during the week on trip #6, a 4-day, Monday, May 26th to Friday, May 30th. Call the office 619-226-2403 or check out our schedule at www.searchersportfishing.com

May 22nd, 2025|Categories: Trip Reports|

Hello Anglers,

Trip #4 update, Wednesday night was a solid night of fishing. Steadily picking on some nice bluefin. We’ve had good weather on the trip. Recommended tackle for upcoming trips would be heavy jigs for nighttime with a 100-pound setup as well as some lighter flyline rods (30 and 50) would be essential.

We’ve got one more day of opportunities on the water before driving back. Tomorrow morning, we head out on our Memorial Day trip. A 3-day running from Friday, May 23rd to Monday, May 26th.

We’ve got spots open during the week on trip #6, a 4-day, Monday, May 26th to Friday, May 30th. Call the office 619-226-2403 or check out our schedule at www.searchersportfishing.com

Trip #3 | May 16-19, 2025 | John Waggoner Charter Update

May 19th, 2025|Categories: Trip Reports|

Good Afternoon Anglers,

Searcher returned Monday morning from a 3-day charter with John Waggoner and friends, Friday, May 16th to Monday, May 19th. We had excellent fishing Friday night but afterwards had a tough couple of days. We had to run from the weather Saturday and went looking at another area. Saw a little bit of fish but couldn’t catch them. Sunday, we decided to try something different and searched for some coastal yellowtail. We saw a few schools, but they don’t bite! Very encouraging signs but the fish weren’t in the right mode. During the trip we enjoyed delicious meals prepared by Dan and Jeff, consisting of tri-tip, pulled pork, Asian rice bowl, and BBQ chicken. We definitely enjoyed this group of Anglers and look forward to seeing them all later this season and next year.

Tomorrow, we drive out on a 2.5-day, trip #4, Tuesday, May 20th to Friday, May 23rd. 3 spots available if you feel like jumping on the boat. We also have a few spots open on trip #6, a 4-day, Monday, May 26th to Friday, May 30th.

Check out our 2025 schedule or call the office 619-226-2403.

Making a change to a different zone today due to the weather forecast with a few other boats.

Trip #1 | Rich Denio Charter | Sunday Evening

May 11th, 2025|Categories: Trip Reports|

Good Evening Searcher Family,

Trip #1 update for Sunday, May 11, 2025. This morning, we took a break from the bluefin and did some bottom fishing. Just before lunch we decided to take off and got back on the fish late in the afternoon. This was the best sign we’ve seen on the trip so far. We had one opportunity and managed 2 trophies. One on the kite and Rich got one on the sinker bait. There’s been excellent signs of fish around and it feels like they’re going to start biting soon.

We have spots available on upcoming trips during the week. Get out with a light load 2.5-day on trip #4, Tuesday, May 20th to Friday, May 23rd or jump on a 4-day, Monday, May 26th to Friday, May 30th.

Check out our 2025 schedule or call the office 619-226-2403.
