Nov 3 (Oct 30-Nov 7) Ultra-limited load

November 3rd, 2022|Categories: Captain Mike's Blog, Trip Reports|

Hello anglers:

The tuna fishing continues to be good and everyone now has plenty. The weather has changed significantly with more wind, so we’ll be watching where we go from here.

We were able to troll around this morning and had some wahoo action. We are hoping to try again after lunch.

Hello anglers:

Great action on 12-35# tuna this morning. The tuna started to bite before daylight and continued until 10 am. Everyone had a great chance  at landing a yellowfin. Live sardine was the best method.

We trolled for wahoo and found a few in the afternoon. There was some opportunities and half the group landed a wahoo.

Welcome back to Tackle Tip Thursday, anglers!

Fred Brandt, one of Seeker Fishing Rod‘s pro staffers, talks about the different ways you can use Colt Snipers while fishing tuna. He also introduces and explains how to use the “Snipper” from Lead Masters.

We still have a few spots open on our annual 7 day, Seeker-sponsored trip with Fred, himself! Not only is Fred incredibly knowledgeable and helpful at the rail — he’s a lot of fun, too! Book your long- range adventure and come fish with Fred and Team Searcher in October 2023.

Hello anglers:

We arrived at the 13 fathom spot ths afternoon. We trolled around for an hour with no wahoo strikes, so we dropped the anchor.

We had some action on 12- 40 pound yellowfin tuna. We stayed busy until sunset and everyone had a chance at a tuna.

We are spending the night and trying again tomorrow.

Hello anglers:

It’s rigging day.

We had a seminar this morning to cover all the methods possible for the next few days on The Ridge. The great thing about The Ridge is the variety. When you cast out, you never know what you’re going to catch. We hope to have some action on yellowfin tuna, yellowtail, dorado and wahoo.

Everyone is in the process, with crew help, of getting set up for tomorrow afternoon.

Good evening,

On the slower side for yellowtail fishing today. We had a good shot in the morning but I think we weren’t quite ready. We saw fish later in the afternoon that didn’t cooperate.  Lots of big bass and other miscellaneous throughout the day though.

Good morning,

We are kelping our way up to be in position to fish yellowtail tomorrow. We’ve had a couple good kelps this morning for “all-you-want” dorado. No wahoo on any of them yet. We didn’t tag a whole lot of fish today since anglers are saving tags for tomorrow.

Starting to get a little breezy here now hopefully theres a wahoo kelp on the bow.
