Hello anglers; Another great day of fishing! It was a little slower today, but the quality of the fish was the same–bluefin tuna in the 30-40 pound class– and a few nice size yellowfin tuna. We finished the day with some action on good-size yellowtail to finish the trip. We had great weather and lots of fun,

Hello anglers: We’re enjoying great fishing for bluefin tuna today! Most everyone has landed at least one of these good-size bluefin. All the fish are in the 30-40 pound class. The primary method has been flyline live bait (sardine or greenback mackerel), #30-40 pound mono with matching floro-carbon, and a 3/0 circle or J hook.
This morning’s photo is of Capt Ryan and Peggy O’Rourke from Huntington Beach and her nice size bluefin tuna.

Hello anglers: We had a really good day today! Everyone landed their California daily limit of bluefin tuna. We couldn’t have asked for a better result for our efforts today–great weather and good fishing. The photo is of former Sportfishing Association of California (SAC) president Bob Fletcher and his son Rob with their bluefin tunas. All the fish are this size 30-40 pound class.

Hello anglers; Today we had good fishing in great weather. We enjoyed calm seas and very light winds. We opted for getting some action today close to home where there has been small yellowfin tuna and dorado on kelp paddies. We had a slow morning but made up for it this afternoon. Everyone had a limit of dorado and close to a limit of yellowfin tuna.
Mission accomplished with lots of action! Thanks to Shimano for providing all the great tackle and giveaways. As always it was a pleasure having our friend Patrick Gee as instructor. He was able to hook and hand several fish to people having trouble getting a bite. Thanks to Pete and Rick from Let’s Talk Hook-up for allowing us to participate in this great program of teaching people how to fish. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

Hello anglers: With the weather forecast calling for windy conditions, we decided to leave the bluefin zone so we would have an opportunity for everyone to catch a fish. So we moved east for better weather. We managed to find some action on small yellowfin tuna and dorado. Today’s photo is of Capt Joe and Larry Fukuhara from LA and a good-size dorado.
Headed for home,

Hello anglers: We are trying for bluefin tuna today. The yellowfin tuna that we were fishing last trip aren’t biting currently and so there was good sign of bluefin tuna not too far from the yellowfin area. We aren’t landing that many but the ones we are landing are REALLY nice fish. Frank Fink from San Diego is pictured with his bluefin tuna from this morning.
The flat fall lure from Shimano is working for these fish as well.
