Congratulations to the jackpot winner for the 2017 Turner’s Outdoorsman 1.5-day Open Charter Trip!
Hello all,
Thanks to Turner’s Outdoorsman for sponsoring another great trip!! We had a few nice size yellowtail this afternoon and then we had some action on yellowfin tuna as well. Here’s Beto Schramm from Turner’s San Diego with a good size yellowtail. This afternoon’s yellows and tuna were landed on live sardines. Everyone had an opportunity to catch something today! It was a phenomenal day on the ocean today with no wind or swell. Returning in the morning Sept 1, we’ll have a jackpot report for you.

Hello all,
We have had some good action on yellowfin tuna this morning. Troll fish , live sardine fish and artificial lure fish. Here is Harry Walker from La Jolla with a yellowfin tuna landed with one of our Accurate product Boss reels and a Seeker rod that these great sponsors provided us. We are happy to have Harry with us on this trip he won at a Coastal Conservation Association fundraiser. We are proud to support CCA and the important work they do.
Looking for more tuna action this afternoon. We’ll let you know how it goes.

The Turner’s Outdoorsman-sponsored annual 1.5-day trip departed this afternoon under beautiful weather conditions and with a big pile o’swag from the generous folks at Turner’s! There were poppers, flat falls, hooks, squish jigs, fluoro and braid at the “Take One of Everything” Tackle Store manned by Turner’s reps Beto S. and Jason R. Our anglers got stocked up as they made their way to their staterooms!
Searcher friends Don and Danielle Gaskill
are doubling up on 1.5-day trips, having just returned today from the LTHU Open 1.5-day!
We will be posting Capt Art’s daily trip reports here, so keep checking back!
Congrats to Dana P for a 12.15# dorado!
Hello anglers,
We enjoyed more action on yellowfin tuna and dorado this afternoon. Everyone had a great time at the rail today. Live bait and artificial lures both worked great. One of our long-time customers and former Let’s Talk Hook-Up seminar leaders–Gary W.–landed a yellowfin tuna on the bow with an assist from Capt Kenny at one of our stops today.

Hello anglers,
We have been lucky this morning to find a kelp paddie with a good school of yellowfin tuna! The tuna were biting as soon as we stopped, so we’ve enjoyed plenty of action for everyone which is exactly what we hoped for today. We are grateful for our Let’s Talk Hook-up pro-staffer, Patrick Gee, for his extra help in sharing his passion for sportfishing.
Pictured is Don G. from with one of his tuna. Don and his daughter Danielle come every year on our Let’s Talk Hook-Up trips. They are a pleasure to have on board. We call Danielle “Lefty” because she has left-handed reels. I joke with her every trip that she has her reels on backwards–it’s tradition.

We are happy to announce that the popular Let’s Talk Hook Up 1.5-day Searcher trip is underway! The 27 anglers were ready to get lines in the water with pro staffer Patrick Gee. Stay tuned for daily reports from the field!

Hello anglers,
We are landing some quality yellowtail this morning and a few yellowfin tuna as well! All the ladies are having fun. Tresa R. landed this beauty on 25-pound line and a live sardine.
More later, Team SearcherHello anglers
We have managed to land some yellowtail and yellowfin tuna. The yellowtail are good size again so when you catch one it is a good one. Everyone is having a great time with lots of laughs in the stern. Teresa B. caught a nice yellowfin tuna.
We are headed offshore for this afternoon and hope to land a few tuna.
