Hello anglers: We were lucky to find a kelp paddy that was seen yesterday by another boat and we had some action on dorado and small yellowfin tuna. All the novices on this charter are doing well and everyone is catching fish. The weather is calm and overcast. Today’s photo is of Capt Ryan and Ulysses Ramos-Ochoa from La Puente, CA and a nice size dorado.

Hello anglers: We had a great day of fishing for yellowtail today! The morning was the best, and then after lunch we just managed to keep one fish hooked. We had a few exotics with a nice bluefin tuna. Today’s photo is of Robert Aguirre of Fullerton is pictured with a nice 40-pound bluefin tuna.
One of the highlights today was a fresh yellowtail poke prepared by Ed Greta who filleted and cut up the fish, and Derek Taguchi of Fishbonz Restaurant added his recipe for the poke. It was great! Thanks to Ed and Derek.

Hello anglers: We had a great morning, with most of what we caught today before noon. We struggled to find something that wanted to bite this afternoon. It was a great day with good weather and some quality fish. John Aguirre from LA landed a 42-pound yellowfin tuna and Dean Benavidas from Burbank is pictured with a good-size yellowfin.

Hello anglers: We started our trip back in the same zone where the yellowfin tuna have been lately. We had a couple of stops this afternoon with a few fish. It was good to wet a line today and get all the kinks out. We had a chance to get everyone rigged up correctly with hooks tied on, right drags set, and all the tactics realized after a seminar in the galley on the way out. Mike Wicen and Capt Aaron are pictured in the bow after Mike landed this yellowfin.
