September 30
Hello anglers: We had another action packed morning with everyone getting their shot at a yellowfin tuna. Everyone has enough yellowfin tuna for the trip! We also had a couple of wahoo, just a few incidental wahoo today and yesterday. We hope to have another chance at a wahoo tomorrow. Pictured is John Waggoner with a nice yellowfin. He also caught a nice wahoo today.
The weather is awesome with warm temperatures and calm seas. We are headed northwest tonight to try another spot.

Hello anglers: Our long ride from San Diego was rewarded today with some good action on yellowfin tuna and a few wahoo. Everyone had a chance at some fish today. Pictured is Curtis Howard from Diamond Bar, CA with the first wahoo of the trip! We are spending the night here and trying again for more tuna and wahoo. We are enjoying the great weather with light winds and calm seas,

Dear anglers: Capt Aaron reports catching some yellowtail today, but the catching figures are not living up to what was happening early in the week. The windy conditions are persisting as well. We are hoping for a biting school of yellowfin to show up this afternoon! ETA is 6 a.m.

Howdy anglers, This morning was very slow for us, but not from lack of fish. We saw lots of nice big schools, and even a few big schools feeding on bait balls. It was very cool to see, so we’re hoping for some more action this afternoon. The weather is a bit choppy, so wish us luck.

September 23 trip’s end and a look to the future
Hello anglers: We changed things up today and tried along the coast for yellowtail. We had enough tuna and dorado for everyone. We saw a sign of yellowtail in a couple of different places today, but they didn’t want to bite. The ones we landed were good size–18-25 pound fish. Almost everyone landed one. Capt Richie and Richard Yoshioka from La Palma, CA are pictured with a nice yellowtail.
We are headed home after a great trip with plenty of action and variety. These 14 passenger trips are great–everyone loves them, including us. They are very low key with lots of room for everyone. There is a 14-passenger trip in October that has some room on it. Treat yourself and join us!
Speaking of our later trips, things are shaping up down south with signs of wahoo, yellowfin tuna and lots of yellowtail on the coast for the way down or the way home. Looking forward to getting down below for a change of scenery and a chance at a wahoo.

September 22–Day of the Dorado!
Hello anglers: We acomplished our goal today with good fishing for dorado. We found three kelp paddies that had fish on them and so we were able to take advantage of the good fishing. The majority of the fish are 10-12 pounds with a few stand out in the 20 -25 pound class. These fish are crowd-pleasers with the color and the jumping–they are tough on 25 pound line. Live sardines and a 2/0 J-hook was the method of choice. Lots of fun was had by all.
Today’s photo is of Capt Ritchie with John Raue of Bonita and a nice dorado.
