Hello anglers: Today was an unusual day because of our location. We made a LONG run out to the Cortez to try for bluefin tuna. We got some info that there might be a chance to catch some 20 pound bluefin. The weather was calm so we decided to go for it. We didn’t reach our goal on the bluefin but we had good fishing in the afternoon. We landed 15 bluefin (for 14 anglers) and some more yellowtail and a few yellowfin tuna. Everyone had a chance at a bluefin. Pictured is Capt Joe with Kevin Mills and his birthday bluefin. What a birthday Kevin had on Searcher with a 30-pound yellowtaill on the yo-yo and his spinning tackle, and this bluefin tuna.
Headed home with a great catch.

Hello anglers: We have awesome weather with glassy conditions, sunny skies and warm temps. The water is 75 degrees and blue. We had two stops on dorado this morning that were terrific. We found good-size fish, lots of jumpers, and enough fish in the water to make it look like an aquarium.You could almost pick the fish you wanted to catch. Ken Yoshida and Capt Art are pictured with a sample of the size fish we landed. Lots of fun!

Hello anglers: We travelled further south with hopes of finding some yellowfin tuna. Unfortunately we didn’t connect. We found what we were looking for–tuna associated with common dolphin in blue, 80-degree water. There was a small amount of tuna present, but we couldn’t get them to bite very well. We are headed north tonight and we will look for some dorado tomorrow.

Hello anglers: We started our trip a little on the slow side with windy conditions and the wrong day in the yellowtail zone. We saw enough sign of fish to stay and try the next day.Today we had excellent fishing with yellowtail in the 12 – 25 pound range, with most of the fish landed on dropper-loops and yo-yo lures. We are glad we stayed and so now we can check the yeloowtail box and head further south for tomorrow.

Howdy anglers: What amazing day we had here on Searcher! We found a kelp that was LOADED with 15-30 lb dorado and they were biting! i have seen lots of wide open bites, but never this grade of dorado. It was like fishing a aquarium–truly amazing. After we had our fun and left the fish biting, we looked for tuna. Unfortunately we never found them. So we’re headed in and Capt Art is coming back out for a 6-day trip

Howdy anglers, Today was a fun day! It started out with a really good calico bass bite while we waited for the weather to improve. Then the weather improved and we were able to get offshore to get some action on some really nice dorado. There’s a nice round of dorado for the whole group. The weather is getting better all the time and we’re hoping for some more offshore action tomorrow. Stay tuned for our last day of fishing.
Tip of the day: When fishing is good and they’re biting, don’t waste time when you lose one. Grab another rod and get a bait in the water!

Howdy anglers: We had another great morning fishing for yellowtail and so we’re working up the beach trying to find something else to catch. Our weather is very good still. Here’s a sample of the fish we caught. This is “Team Wisconsin” with family members Jim and Dan Berg and Tricia Ohm.

Howdy anglers: Today we had a amazing afternoon of fishing for yellowtail. We got our daily limit of fish and the weather couldn’t get any calmer. We’re hoping for some more action tomorrow before we head offshore looking for other species
