Howdy anglers: We had very fun fishing on kelps with lots of yellowtail and we had a few yellowfin tuna to be put in the mix as well. The weather was calm and everything was all good. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon, Capt Aaron and Searcher crew
Howdy anglers: Today was a great day on the water and for fish too. We had a great day almost drifting all day long catching bluefin tuna. We caught a few nice yellowtails and a yellowfin tuna, not to mention the 70lb opah to go with the fun fishing.Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon,
Capt Aaron and Searcher crew
Capt Aaron barely has time to call and report, but he’s got bluefin on deck! He had about 32 of them mid-morning on his first drfit. The second drift got them more bluefin, yellowtail and a 60-80# OPAH! Stay tuned for a full report later.
Howdy anglers: It was a tough day fishing–a down day for the fleet. But we did see some bluefin tuna and we did hook a few so that’s encouraging for upcoming trips. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon, Capt Aaron and Searcher crew
Howdy anglers: This morning we had some steady strikes on yellowfin tuna. For the afternoon the fish moved or went down–very few fish were caught in the afternoon. So we’re gonna do it again tomorrow, wish us luck1

Hello anglers: So far on the long-range front has been some interesting. There is warm water already at Alijos Rocks and the Ridge and sea surface temperatures are in the mid 70’s. There are signs of wahoo and dorado on kelp paddies which unusual for this time of year. Generally we think about looking for kelps in October and some years into November.
What does this all mean? In my humble opinion it could mean a longer season, and it could also bring warm water fish further north. Two years ago we were catching and seeing wahoo north of San Benito island along with plenty of yellowfin tuna and dorado.
We are hopeful the warm water keeps moving north. It might provide us with more fishing time and less travel time. We had a seven day trip two years ago where we fished 6 out of the 7 days in the trip. That doesn’t happen very often but it could happen this year.
We are excited about the prospects for the whole season! Things are looking great with good signs of fish in several different areas. Don’t wait to make your reservation too long we only have a few trips that have room so call Celia or book online now!

Howdy anglers, Today was our day! We had very fun fishing for tuna this morning, and spent the rest of the day fishing kelps for yellowtail and some more tuna for the rest of the day. We are headed home. Capt Aaron and Searcher crew
Capt Aaron is having great fishing this morning! He reports good signs of yellowfin tuna and yellowtail. Lots of fish caught on the troll and a few bait and artificial lure fish in each stop. The yellowtail are coming off kelp paddies. If the bite continues all day the group will have a banner day. There are only 13 passengers aboard and the next trip will have about the same. Still time to get on board for a 2.5 day trip leaving tomorrow afternoon.
