Back out on a 5-day

August 19th, 2013|Captain Mike's Blog|

Howdy anglers: We’re currently drifting with a school of bluefin tuna and this is the first school that’s biting so far this morning. There is a good sign of fish all around but it was a case of finding one that wanted to bite. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon. Capt Aaron and the Searcher crew

Banner day!

August 19th, 2013|Captain Mike's Blog|

Howdy anglers: Nice fish coming over the rail for us this afternoon and we still have one hanging into the dark. We have been drifting on the same school since a little after lunch. The grade of the fish is 30 -60 lbs so we’re gonna stay here another day and hope to do it again tomorrow. Here is a sample of the grade of fish that was caught today by Bruce Gothar of Menifee, CA. Good angling and hope to see ya on the water soon. Capt Aaron and the Searcher crew

Last day for Accurate Products Open

August 18th, 2013|Captain Mike's Blog|

Hello anglers: Today we travelled home. Everyone has enough fish and based on where we finished the trip, we didn’t have much time to fish today. Thanks to Gary Gillingham from Accurate Products for all the goodies and the use of the tackle. For people who haven’t had the chance to use Accurate Products rod and reel combos, they get a chance to use it and realize how great the reels are and hopefully buy a rod and reel combo for their arsenal.

Gary “He’s on again” Gillingham is a great help and a great fisherman. He hooks fish and hands them off to people that might be having trouble and he donates fish to the galley so everyone can enjoy them. He is an absolute pleasure to have on board. Look for the Accurate Products trips in our 2014 schedule in the near future. Team Searcher

Hello anglers: We made a move south to the yellowtail zone and it paid off. We had great fishing this morning for good-size yellowtail. I’m sure the fish will average 20 pounds. Great weather again today. Long-time Searcher family member Paul Jones from Pacifica, CA and Capt Joe are pictured with a nice fish from this morning’s action.
