Hello anglers, I thought I would give everyone an update on the latest albacore info. Yesterday there were three different areas of fish that were biting a little. There were fish at 175, 150, and 105 miles from San Diego and the boats in those ares saw good signs of fish. There were counts of up to 100 albies on some boats in all three areas. Hopefully the fish will bite more consistently today and in the future. So as it is right now, you have an opportunity to catch a fish on 1.5 day trips to 5 day trips. We have availability on all those trips. The weather forecast looks good and it appears that we have a stable weather pattern. Don’t miss out on a great chance to fish on trips with fewer people than we have had in the past. Capt Art

Capt Art gave everyone about three hours of fishing in the current tuna area (at 150 miles). They caught 61 albacore in the 20-30# class. Full report later…

Hello anglers, Today we worked up from 200 miles south of San Diego and we saw several schools of bluefin tuna. Unfortunately they didn’t bite. We managed to land three fish out of about 10 bites. One day hopefully these fish will change modes and start to bite our baits. There is sure a lot of bluefin around still. We made it up to the area where there was a sign of albacore today and we had great fishing for the three hours we were in the area before heading home. We caught 65 albacore for our 16 passengers. They were biting pretty good with two great stops–one for 21 fish and the last stop for 35 fish. They were boiling around and everyone had a chance to catch a few. Some of the people were using heavier line 40 and 50 pound. It is really fun when they want to bite like that. Unfortunately we will be at the dock for two days but we are eager to get back out there and get in on this good fishing, More later, Capt Art

Hello anglers, We had a superb day today at Cedros Island. The weather was great and the fishing wasn’t too bad either. We had great fishing for yellowtail with all methods working–from flyline sardine to surface iron to yo-yo iron. They all worked! The size of fish is around 20 pound average with a few 14 pounders and a few 25 pounders. Every time I come to this island I hope for a chance to see boiling yellowtail and fish chasing surface iron. That type of fishing is still the most exciting of them all. We had multiple opportunities to do that today. Lots of fun was had by all, including the captain. It sounds like some pretty decent albacore fishing at around 170 miles from home and also at around 100 miles. Plenty of space on upcoming trips. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Slower day on the albacore today, but a passenger caught a bluefin and donated it to the galley. The day’s highlight seems to be the sushi, sashimi, and seared bluefin put out for the afternoon snack by Lambchop! Full report later.
