Hello anglers, We spent our day offshore today and went through an old area where albies were caught a couple of weeks ago to keep it honest. Sometimes the fish go down and never move, and pop back up in the same place. We were hoping for that today. Unfortunately it wasn’t the right day. We worked south and found some yellowfin tuna this afternoon and had some jig strikes. The fish averaged 18 pounds with a few smaller and a few bigger. There were a few bait fish caught and I think we ended up catching 45 fish for our efforts today. Not a bad afternoon. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Hello anglers, We finished our trip today back in the albacore area. Unfortunately the fish were down and there wasn’t much seen or caught. We did try some kelp paddies and each one had a little sign of bluefin tuna, dorado or yellwtail. We also had a yellowfin tuna jig strike. Anyway there are signs of fish in a lot of places and the water is 70 degrees. I think things look very encouraging for the future, More next trip Capt Art p.s. Here’s the “Kevin and Kevin” show:

Hello anglers: We arrived at Isla Cedros this morning about 8 a.m. to find very nice tropical weather and grrrrrrrrrrreat yellowtail fishing. We had plenty of 12-20# fish with a few going over the 20# mark. The fishing was best on fly-lined bait but we did manage quite a few on the yoyo-jigs and a few were caught on the surface iron. Here’s a video clip of Kim Day: The seals today hardly posed a problem and we had minimal causualties. We departed Isla Cedros about 4:30 p.m. and are on our way back out to the albacore grounds to do some fishing in the morning and finish up a wonderful 5-day trip. Also we would like to wish passenger Leo Balmes a “Happy Birthday!” He is out here with us fishing. Thanks for tuning in, Capt Joe and the Searcher Crew!

Hello anglers, We had another great day of fishing for big albacore! Everything was the same today, with plenty of opportunities to land a big, fat albacore. Most of the fish were caught in the afternoon but we enjoyed plenty of action through out the day. There were troll fish and live bait fish on almost all the stops. A 40 pound outfit is a must for this type of fishing. We are headed for Cedros Island tomorrow for a change in scenery and a different type of fish–yellowtail on fly line sardines is the order for tomorrow. Capt Art
