Hey anglers, We had a pleasant surprise this morning. We woke up to a really good wahoo bite. I saw a few fish in our lights before daylight and when the sun came up it was “game on.” We had 33 wahoo before 7 am. We tried to get everyone up during the bite but not everyone had a chance to get a wahoo. For those passengers that were awake, they experienced wahoo fishing at its best. After that we tried for yellowtail and found fish on a couple different spots on the coast. We had good fishing and the majority of the fish were caught on yo-yo jigs. The yellows were 12-20 pounds so we had a great day. We are headed home and expect to be in San Diego early on the 11th. Capt Art

Hey anglers, We were extremely lucky today and had excellent wahoo fishing with lots of jigstrikes. Live bait and chrome raider jigs worked great. Everyone had at least three fish, and some guys got their limit. We also had good yellowtail fishing in the same area with 12-15 pound fish. We anchored for a couple of hours and had fish on dropper-loops and yo-yo jigs. There were a few dorado in the catch today and we released several small yellowfin tuna. Hoping for more of the same tomorrow. The weather is great. Capt Art

Hey anglers, Today we were at Alijos Rocks again and unfortunately it was slower than yesterday. We saw fish most of the day but could not get them to bite. We ended up with 11 yellowtail, three wahoo and four yellowfin tuna. Jerry Barnes from Redlands hooked a large yellowfin on 30 pound test and was overmatched. We saw the fish and it appeared to be around 100 pounds. We had a shot at it with the gaff but not quite good enough and eventually the line broke. What a heartbreaker! We left the rocks around 4 pm and headed in towards the coast. We got lucky and found a kelp paddie and had some good action on nice-size dorado. Everyone had a good time with that. More tomorrow Capt Art

Hey Anglers, We arrived at Alijos Rocks this morning at 10 am and looked around for wahoo for a little while. We had no jigstrikes so we anchored and immediately hooked a few wahoo. We had quite a few people get bitten off by them. We managed to land 13 wahoo for the day. There is a sign of good-size yellowfin tuna. We saw several fish boil around the boat but unfortunately they didn’t bite very well. We landed 15 yellowfin tuna. Most of the fish were 25 pounds with two fish in the 60 to 80 pound range. Jim Berg from Wisconsin had a heck of a day landing the largest yellowfin tuna and two wahoo and a dorado. Dale Bunting from Cambria had the second largest yellowfin tuna and he also landed two wahoo, and one was 45 pounds. A few dorado were landed. We are spending the night and hoping for a good day tomorrow. The weather is good with light winds and not much sea. Capt Art

Howdy anglers, The weather hasn’t let up for us today and the fishing has improved a bit for us. In between the many many skipjack strikes, we managed to make a day of catching some yellowfin tuna along with a few albacore in the mix. So we are headed in for a few days, so good angling and hope to see you on the water. Capt. Aaron

Howdy anglers, We’re on a 3-day with Capt. Kevin at the helm. The weather has picked up and it has made it tough looking for kelps. Today there were a few kelps in the area and they were marked, but the weather made it very hard to find where were some yellowfin and dorado caught today. So we’re gonna try again tomorrow, Capt Aaron
