Hey anglers, Today was a disapointment. We had really high hopes for today based on yesterday’s action, but those darn albies didn’t show this morning. As of 2 p.m. today nobody has located them. We only had 5 albies in the time we had today before calling it a trip. The conditions are the same with an edge in the same place and the temperature is the same also. But there is one change–a few bluefin tuna were caught in the area which is completely different. We didn’t see any bluefin in the two days prior to today. We are grateful for the past two days of fishing and everyone is going home happy with a few albies. It would have been nice to land a few more, but maybe next trip. Hey anglers, We had good albacore fishing again today. We landed 109 albies from 9 am until 2:30 pm. Catching got very slow after that, so we are happy to have the fish we caught. Long-time Searcher passenger, Hal Guy from Canoga Park, landed a fish that will weigh at least 25 pounds and there were several other fish over 20 pounds–good quality today! We will stay the night and try again in the morning and hope for a few more albacore. The weather is choppy, but when the fish are biting you don’t notice it as much. More tomorrow, Capt Art Allen Adden Albacore Action:

Hey anglers, Today we had our best day of the season so far for albacore. We landed a total of 68 fish. Most of them were caught on live sardines for bait, with 25# line and no sinker. We had 15 stops today with troll fish in each stop, There were meter marks and sonar marks that produced bites also. We are currently 150 miles from San Diego and we will be here all day tomorrow. Looking forward to more fireworks with the albacore, Capt Art

Jul 2-Day’s End Report

Greetings from Searcher, We’re just finishing up the second annual KW birthday bash 1.5 day trip! Based on information received on the way out to the fishing grounds we opted to head about 120 miles down in the search of albacore, bluefin, and kelp paddy yellowtail. Our morning started out with a jig strike for two albacore, followed up by a meter mark that led to 15 bluefin tuna. After that we managed to pick off a few more albacore throughout the day and visited a number of kelp paddies for some really good quality yellowtail. Our count for the day is 41 yellowtail, 15 bluefin and 7 albacore. We’re all glad to see the fishing improve out here and the conditions look promising! So come on out and catch some fish.
