October 20, 2015 – Mid-day Report: Wahoo Milestone!
Capt. Aaron and Team Searcher
Howdy anglers We had a slow morning here but then we did get a little action on some yellowtail right around lunch time. We’re headed back offshore and south as well. Wish us luck! Here is a picture of the yellowtail–Darrel Chapman with Capt Kenny Merrell.
These yellows were biting yoyo lures.

Howdy anglers: We found a couple of kelps today to gather some nice dorados for our anglers. The weather overall was overcast, drizzly and windy but we made a great day of it. So we’re headed towards the beach to see what is in store for us tomorrow. Hopefully nicer weather and hungry fish!

Howdy anglers: Another fun day fishing for yellowtail! We found a nice grade of fish today (15-25 pounders) and they were biting yoyo lures and dropperloops on the bottom. Here’s Tom Tewksbury and Capt Ryan with a sample of today’s catch. Today was also hard on the tackle–we lost lots to rocks on the bottom. TIP: Don’t forget to bring a couple extra sinkers and yoyo lures. We’re going offshore tomorrow in hopes of some colorful leapers–“dorado”– so wish us luck for our last day.

Howdy anglers: We had a great day catching wahoo, a few nice yelllowtail and some yellowfin tuna in between stops.
The weather is great and we’re headed up to the beach for our chance at some yellowtail action. We had our movie matinee on a travel afternoon a few days ago. “Big Daddy” was the viewer’s choice this trip, accompanied by gourmet popcorn and red licorice.
TIP: The wahoo were eating everything–live bait, bombs, and lures. And the troll fish were hitting whatever we were dragging, all types of wahoo trolling lures.
