Hello anglers, We travelled today, heading south. We had a seminar this morning given by Captains Aaron and Cole. Everyone had a chance to rig up their tackle this afternoon. We are anticipating an arrival at the 13=fathom bank tomorrow afternoon and are hoping to catch some of that good-grade yellowfin tuna. Another boat had good signs this afternoon there. Our weather is good, with light winds and a large swell from the north west. Tropical Storm Olaf is out of the picture and so we hope things settle down on the Ridge and get back to the good conditions we saw there before the storm. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Hello anglers, Today we had excellent yellowtail fishing on the coast south of Cedros Island. The majority of the fish were in the 15 pound class. There were a few bigger and a few smaller. Yo-Yo iron was the primary method used with two colors working really well: good old blue and white 6Xjr and 6X regular. Also the “scrambled egg” color with 40 to 60 pound test line, and a 4-1 or 6-1 gear ratio reel. Drop that iron to the bottom, turn the handle as fast as you can and you had a bite! One of the classic errors that anglers make is to wind the iron all the way to the surface. We recommend winding up part-way from the bottom. It saves your arm and the majority of the bites are closest to the bottom where the fish are. Everyone had a great time this morning and everyone landed enough yellowtail. We hope tomorrow we can get some dorado to end the trip on a high note. Capt Art

Hey anglers, We concentrated on wahoo today. We had pretty good action with several jig strikes and a few fish on wahoo bombs, raider jigs and live bait. Everyone had a chance to catch a wahoo and so we accomplished our goal. In addition, everyone LANDED a wahoo which is really great. There were a few yellowfin tuna and dorado landed as well. The weather is great with the exception of the heat. Calm seas are always a treat. We are headed for the coast to try for yellowtail tomorrow. There are two spots open on our next 7-day trip in case you’d like to get in on the action! Looking forward to more action, Capt Art p.s. Hey anglers, Today we spent the day fishing the 13-fathom bank. We had steady action on yellowfin tuna. There were fish from 10 pounds all the way to 40 pounds. The smaller ones we released and the better ones we tagged. We trolled for wahoo, picked up three and lost a few. There were a few good-size dorado as well. The weather is great with very warm conditions in the high 80’s outside and 84-degree water. We are moving south to the 23-fathom bank with hopes of a fresh spot that hasn’t been fished in a while and hopefully some wahoo. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Hey anglers, We travelled until 2:30pm today and finally made it to the 13-fathom bank. We bucked a current the whole way south. We were rewarded with some great yellowfin tuna fishing. The fish are in the 15 to 35 pound class. Most of the fish were caught with live bait and we had the best fishing later in the day. The weather is great with 85 degrees surface temperatures and 81 degree water temp. Also we had a big whale shark around the boat on the surface for about an hour we hope to see that again. What a cool animal! Looking forward to tomorrow, Capt Art

Anglers are on their way to the Uncle Sam Bank and should be fishing at lunchtime tomorrow. This morning was spent with tackle and rigging seminars and lots of gear preparation. Chicken enchiladas and cilantro cesar salad for lunch kept everyone fortified! Wish them luck and big fish tomorrow, Searcher office
