Howdy anglers, The weather hasn’t let up for us today and the fishing has improved a bit for us. In between the many many skipjack strikes, we managed to make a day of catching some yellowfin tuna along with a few albacore in the mix. So we are headed in for a few days, so good angling and hope to see you on the water. Capt. Aaron

Howdy anglers, We’re on a 3-day with Capt. Kevin at the helm. The weather has picked up and it has made it tough looking for kelps. Today there were a few kelps in the area and they were marked, but the weather made it very hard to find where were some yellowfin and dorado caught today. So we’re gonna try again tomorrow, Capt Aaron

Hey anglers, Today was a tough day on the grounds today with choppy weather and very few fish. We did manage to catch a 20-pound albacore which was the highlight of our day. All in all, this was a great trip with everyone landing a nice grade yellowfin tuna and having a chance at some good yellowtail and smaller yellowfin tuna at the beginning of the trip. We had great weather during the trip, and not so great weather for the ride north. We still have some room on a 3-day trip next weekend and the 9- day fish down-fly back in December. More next trip, Capt Art

Hey anglers, Today we tried for quality yellowfin tuna again. We had a great day with 38 fish–most of them are 40 to 60 pounds. The primary method was by flyline sardine, 50 pound line and 50 pound flourocarbon, and a circle hook. Everyone had a good chance at a quality yellowfin so we met our objective. Our chef Charles had a first today. He hooked and released a striped marlin! There might be a YouTube video available once we get the disk back to the dock, so stay tuned for that. (note from celia: in other words, there’ll be pranks involved!) More tomorrow, Capt Art

Hey anglers, We arrived at Guadalupe Island today at 9:30 am. It didn’t take long to find a few fish to work on. On our first stop we landed six 50-pound yellowfin tuna. We saw a few fish everywhere we went. Unfortunately they didn’t want to bite all that well. We had 14 fish for the day and the last one was a 90 pounder. (ed’s note: there are only 15 anglers aboard!) We have high hopes for tomorrow. The weather is great and we have all day tomorrow to get a few more quality fish. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Hey anglers, Today we fished for yellowtail at San Benito island. There wans’t too much current and there were quite a few sea lions, but we managed to land 70 yellowtail–mixed sizes from 12 to 20 pounds. The majority of the fish were taken on yo-yo lures and dropper-loop setups. We did catch a few fish for dinner. There isn’t anything better than fresh fish caught and cooked the same day! The weather is great and we are headed to Guadalupe to try for some larger-sized fish. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Hey anglers, We tried for yellowfin tuna down the coast today. Our morning was slow but we found a little fish to work on this afternoon. We managed to land 60 tuna for our efforts, and most of that was this afternoon. The tuna are 15 – 22 pounds and there were troll fish and bait fish and a few on artificial lures. The weather laid down nicely today and so we have great travelling weather. We are headed south to try for yellowtail tomorrow at San Benito. More tomorrow, Capt Art

Howdy anglers, Today was a good day for us in all aspects. The weather once again never got over 10 knots and the seas were calm. Today our targeted species was yellowfin tuna and we captured some along the way. Our total for the day was 32 tuna and 1 dorado. The grade of fish that we caught were up to 35 pounds. So were headed in tonight from this 1 1/2 day trip and will be off tomorrow for 6 days with Capt. Art at the helm. Good angling and hope to see you on the water soon, Capt. Aaron
